The RA Perspective

The SES 6.7 rear wheel is what we recommend when someone wants ENVE's fastest road wheelset without needing the deepest, twitchiest front end. Because the front and rear rims are different depths on purpose, this wheel does its job — recapturing airflow off the back of the bike — without making the front end nervous in crosswinds, which is where a lot of deep-section wheels start to feel unpredictable.

The hookless tubeless setup is straightforward once it's mounted, but hookless rims are pickier about tire compatibility than hooked designs, so it's worth checking your tire against ENVE's compatibility list before buying rather than assuming any 700c tubeless tire will seat properly. We've had good luck running 28mm tires on these, which lines up with what ENVE recommends for lowest rolling resistance.

The INNERDRIVE hub's inboard ratchet design is genuinely quieter and smoother than most stock hubs at this price, though the base 40-tooth ratchet has noticeably slower engagement than what racers used to faster-engaging hubs might expect — the 60t or 80t upgrade is worth budgeting for if snappy pickup out of corners matters to you.
