Wilier Filante SLR ID2 Red XPLR AXS 1X Bike w/Power Meter and Kleos RD 50 CeramicSpeed Wheels Info

The Wilier Filante SLR ID2 Red XPLR AXS 1X Bike w/Power Meter and Kleos RD 50 CeramicSpeed Wheels is an aero road bike built around a setup you rarely see on a race frame: a single chainring, SRAM's Red XPLR AXS electronic shifting and a 10-46 cassette. It takes the Filante SLR's carbon chassis and pairs it with a drivetrain that favors simplicity and range over the usual two-ring overlap.

A Wilier Aero Frame With Italian Roots

Wilier Triestina has been building bikes in Italy since 1906, and the Filante is its aero road platform. The frame and fork are carbon monocoque construction using Wilier's HUS MOD+ carbon with Crystal Liquid Polymer. The tube shapes are drawn for airflow rather than for looks, and the cabling disappears into the frame and the F-Bar ID2, a one-piece carbon bar and stem with a built-in Garmin/Wahoo computer mount. With the cables routed inside, the front end stays clean in the wind, and the computer sits where you can read it without taking a hand off the bar.

Wilier designed the ID2 generation to keep the Filante competitive in the wind while staying usable day to day. The seatpost is a Filante SLR carbon piece with a 0 mm setback, and the headset uses Wilier's custom superslim bearings. Tire clearance goes up to 700x34, which is more room than most race-oriented aero frames offer. The bike ships with Vittoria Corsa Pro 700x28 tires, a sensible width for modern rims, and you have room to go wider for rougher roads.

SRAM Red XPLR AXS in a 1X Road Setup

The drivetrain is the unusual part. SRAM's Red XPLR AXS E1 group is a 13-speed system, and here it runs a 46-tooth chainring with the Red XG1391 E1 10-46 cassette. That pairing covers a wide range of gearing with one front ring. There is no front derailleur to trim, no chain crossover between rings and less hardware to clean or adjust. If you ride rolling terrain, mixed-surface routes or long days where you would rather not think about shifting at the front, the single-ring layout makes sense. If you race flat criteriums or chase top-end speed on descents, check the gearing against how you ride before committing.

The crankset includes a power meter, so training data comes with the bike instead of as a later add-on. Stopping comes from SRAM Red AXS E1 hydraulic disc brakes with Paceline X 160mm rotors, and the Red AXS shifters/levers control both shifting and braking. The SRAM DUB Pressfit Road 86.5 bottom bracket completes the drivetrain.

Miche Kleos RD 50 Wheels With CeramicSpeed Bearings

The wheels are Miche Kleos RD 50 carbon, a 50 mm-deep profile that suits an aero frame well. Both wheels use CeramicSpeed bearings, which are chosen to keep rolling resistance low. A 50 mm rim leans toward speed on flat and rolling roads, and at that depth riders in gusty conditions should expect to feel some crosswind effect. The wheels are matched to the frame's aero intent, and they give the build a complete race-ready look without requiring an upgrade out of the box.

Contact Points and Finishing Touches

The saddle is a Prologo Nago R4 PAS Tirox in a 137mm width. The bike comes with aero bottle cages and bottles, and pedals are not included, so you can fit the system you already use. Colors include Lunar Grey, Eclipse Black, Pure White, Aurora Blue, Firelight Red, Solar Bronze and Dewlight Green, and the frame comes in six sizes from XS to XXL.

This Filante SLR ID2 suits riders who want a fast, integrated aero road bike without a conventional two-ring drivetrain. It is a good fit for people who value clean shifting, wide gearing and onboard power data, and who want a bike that carries Wilier's Italian heritage and modern aerodynamic thinking.

The RA Perspective

The first thing we notice on the Filante SLR ID2 is how finished it looks. The F-Bar ID2 and internal routing leave almost nothing exposed, and the 1X SRAM Red XPLR AXS drivetrain makes the front end of the bike even cleaner than a typical aero build.

The gearing is the big decision. A 46-tooth ring with a 10-46 cassette gives you a wide spread with no front shifting, which we like for rolling terrain, long solo rides and mixed-surface days. The tradeoff is that the steps between gears are larger than on a two-ring setup, so strong riders who race flat criteriums and live at high cadence should think about whether that works for them.

The Miche Kleos RD 50 wheels suit the frame, and the CeramicSpeed bearings are a nice touch at this level. A 50 mm rim will let you feel crosswinds, which is worth knowing if you ride somewhere exposed. The included power meter means you can start training with data from day one.

Tire clearance up to 700x34 gives you more flexibility than most aero road bikes, so you can run wider tires on rough pavement. Pedals are not included, so plan for those.

We would reach for this bike on fast group rides, rolling road races and any day where you want an aero machine without the front derailleur.
