The Scott Addict RC Team Bike shares the same HMX carbon frame and climbing-focused geometry as Scott's Addict RC Pro build, positioned as the entry point into the Addict RC lineup's electronic drivetrain builds. Where the Ultimate and Pro builds lean on Shimano and SRAM's top-tier groupsets, the Team build pairs that same frame platform with SRAM Force AXS E1, a wireless electronic groupset that brings most of what makes SRAM's higher-tier Red groupset good — including a built-in power meter — down to a more attainable price.
Frame Construction
The Addict RC Team's frame and fork are built from Scott's HMX carbon using the same PP Mandrel process as the rest of the Addict RC range: individual carbon layers wrapped around a preformed core before molding, then removed once the resin cures, leaving a hollow structure without internal voids and with wall thicknesses as thin as 0.6mm where the engineering allows it. That construction is what lets Scott build a comparatively light frame at this price point rather than relying on a heavier, more conventional layup. The geometry, tube shaping, and fully internal cable routing carry over unchanged from the rest of the Addict RC lineup, including the aerodynamic tube profiles Scott developed alongside its Foil RC aero program, so the ride feel stays consistent whether you're on this build or the range-topping Ultimate.
Drivetrain and Stopping Power
This build runs a complete SRAM Force AXS E1 groupset, SRAM's wireless electronic drivetrain one tier below Red, with a 48/35 chainring pairing and a power meter built directly into the crankset. The SRAM Force XG-1270 12-speed cassette runs a wide 10-36 range, giving riders more low-end gearing for steep, sustained climbs than the tighter cassettes found on some of the pricier Addict RC builds — a practical choice for a bike that's still meant to climb well but is priced to reach a broader range of riders. SRAM Force AXS E1 hydraulic disc brakes handle braking duty, matched to SRAM Paceline CL rotors at 160mm front and 140mm rear.
Wheels, Tires, and Cockpit
Syncros Capital 1.0S 40 carbon wheels front and rear keep rotating weight reasonable for a bike built around climbing performance. Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR tires in a 700x30 width balance low rolling resistance with everyday comfort, and the frame accepts tires up to 700x34 for riders who want more cushion on rougher pavement. The cockpit uses the same Syncros Creston iC SL Carbon combo bar and stem as the rest of the lineup, a single integrated carbon unit that cleans up cable routing and cuts drag versus a two-piece setup. A Syncros Belcarra V2.0 saddle with cut-out and chromoly rails and a Syncros SP-R101-CF seatpost round out the finishing kit — a step down from the carbon-railed saddle and SL-grade post on the Pro and Ultimate builds, but a sensible place to save weight and cost on a bike at this price.
