The Scott Addict RC Pro Bike is built on the same pure climbing platform as Scott's flagship Addict RC Ultimate, using the brand's standard HMX carbon layup in place of the range-topping HMX SL fiber. That's the core tradeoff of this build: a slightly heavier frame in exchange for a lower price, without giving up the geometry, construction method, or design intent that make the Addict RC one of the lighter, more purpose-built climbing bikes on the market. Paired with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic groupset and Syncros carbon wheels, the Addict RC Pro is a race bike for riders chasing the Addict RC's ride quality without paying for the last few grams the Ultimate build shaves off.
Frame Construction
Like the rest of the Addict RC lineup, the Pro's frame and fork are built using Scott's PP Mandrel process, wrapping carbon layers around a preformed core before molding and then removing that core once the resin cures. That method produces a hollow frame with no internal voids or wrinkles in the layup, with wall thicknesses as thin as 0.6mm in areas where the engineering allows it. The difference between this build and the Ultimate comes down to the carbon itself: HMX is a lower-modulus fiber than the HMX SL layup used on the range-topping frame, so the Pro's frame comes in somewhat heavier at 690 grams for a size medium versus the Ultimate's 599 grams. The geometry, tube shaping, and internal cable routing carry over unchanged, including the aerodynamic tube profiles Scott developed alongside its Foil RC aero platform, so the ride character and handling stay consistent across the lineup even as the frame's raw material changes.
Drivetrain and Stopping Power
This build runs a complete Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9200-series groupset, Shimano's top-tier electronic road groupset, with a 52/36 chainring pairing on the crankset and an 11-34 cassette that gives climbers real range for steep, sustained gradients without giving up top-end speed for flats and descents. Shimano Dura-Ace hydraulic disc brakes handle stopping power, matched to Shimano's CL900 rotors at 160mm up front and 140mm in the rear, a setup that favors braking consistency and modulation on long descents where a lighter bike still needs to shed speed reliably.
Wheels, Tires, and Cockpit
Syncros Capital 1.0S 40 carbon wheels front and rear keep rotating weight in check, an important detail on a bike built around climbing performance, where mass at the rim has a more noticeable effect on acceleration than static frame weight. Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR tires in a 700x30 width balance low rolling resistance with a measure of comfort, and the frame supports tires up to 700x34 for riders who want more cushion on rougher roads. Up front, the Syncros Creston iC SL Carbon combo bar and stem is a single integrated carbon unit, cleaning up the cockpit and cutting drag versus a two-piece setup. A Syncros Belcarra V1.0 saddle with cut-out and carbon rails, a Syncros SP-R100-SL seatpost, and an Acros AIF-1317S stainless headset round out a finishing kit built to keep weight down at every contact point.

Available across a full seven-size range from XXS to XXL, in either Tungsten Grey or Rush White/Carbon Black, it's a bike built to disappear underneath a rider focused on the effort in front of them, whether that's a local hill climb, a long day in the mountains, or race day against a field of riders on similarly serious equipment.
