The Scott Addict RC 30 Bike sits in Scott's lightweight, climbing-focused Addict RC line — the counterpart to Scott's aero-shaped Foil RC platform. This build is based on Scott's Addict RC HMX carbon frame and fork, the standard carbon layup used across the Addict RC's more attainable models, with the brand's lighter HMX-SL carbon reserved for the range-topping Ultimate, Pro, and Team framesets further up the lineup.
Shifting comes from Shimano 105 Di2 R7150, Shimano's first electronic groupset built down to the 105 price tier. It runs the same semi-wireless shift architecture and shift speed as Ultegra and Dura-Ace Di2, just with aluminum construction in place of the pricier tiers' materials — for years, electronic shifting on a Shimano-equipped bike meant paying for Ultegra or higher, so having Di2 on a bike in this price range is a genuine step down in cost of entry. The crankset pairs 52/36 chainrings with an 11-34, 12-speed cassette, giving enough range for flat group rides and sustained climbs alike. Braking comes from Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes, with a 160mm rotor up front and a 140mm rotor in back, the sizing Shimano recommends for road bikes since the front brake carries more of the stopping load.
The Addict RC 30 rolls on Syncros Capital 40 CF II carbon wheels, a 40mm-deep wheelset that splits the difference between climbing weight and enough depth to hold speed on rolling terrain. Continental Grand Prix TR tires come stock at 700x30mm and are tubeless-ready, with the frame clearing up to 700x34mm for a rider who wants more cushion on rougher roads.
Scott builds the Addict RC to climb rather than to chase aero numbers in a wind tunnel, which is the main difference between it and the Foil RC in Scott's road lineup. That shows up in how the bike is set up here: a carbon Syncros HB-R100-CF handlebar mounted on an alloy Syncros ST-R100-AL stem, an Acros AIF-1317 headset, a Syncros SP-R101-CF carbon seatpost, and a Syncros Belcarra V2.0 saddle on chromoly rails — a finishing kit that puts the money into the frame and drivetrain rather than every last cockpit component.
The Addict RC 30 is available from size XXS through XXL, in Carbon Black or Champagne Pink / Carbon Black, with a maximum rider weight of 264 lbs. It's built for a rider who wants a genuine climbing-focused race bike with electronic shifting, without paying Ultimate-tier prices to get there.
