The Scott Addict Premium Bike sits at the top of Scott's redesigned Addict lineup, an endurance road bike built to be "long ride ready" rather than race-day sharp. Where the Addict RC is tuned purely for racing, this new Addict is engineered around comfort, relaxed geometry, and confident handling for riders who spend hours in the saddle rather than minutes at threshold.
Scott's engineers rebuilt the frame's tube shapes specifically to increase compliance without giving up structure. A slimmer top tube allows more upward deflection, a narrowed seat tube section below the seat stay junction lets the seat tube flex forward, and the dropped seat stays flex outward — together delivering 25 percent more frame compliance than the Addict RC and 50 percent more than the outgoing Addict. That flex is deliberately isolated from the areas that matter for handling precision: the bottom bracket and head tube retain the same stiffness as the race-focused RC, so the bike still tracks confidently through corners and responds cleanly to hard efforts, even while soaking up road vibration everywhere else. The Addict HMX carbon frame weighs a claimed 780 grams, putting it among the lightest endurance frames on the market and only 50 grams heavier than the previous-generation Addict RC.
Geometry Built for Real Miles
Scott shifted this Addict's geometry to fit its new "ride" category rather than the RC's "race" category — stack is 5mm taller and reach 5mm shorter than the prior generation, putting riders in a more upright, sustainable position without needing a stack of spacers. Chainstays were shortened by 2mm to keep the handling feeling lively rather than sluggish despite the more relaxed fit. Tire clearance now extends to 38mm, four millimeters more than the Addict RC allows, though the frame's geometry is optimized around the 34mm Schwalbe Pro One tires this build ships with — wider rubber remains an option for riders chasing extra vibration damping and grip on rougher roads.
Drivetrain, Wheels, and Practical Features
This Premium build runs a full Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9270 groupset — wireless shifting, a 50/34 crankset, and R9270 hydraulic disc brakes on 160mm rotors — paired with a Shimano Ultegra R8100 12-speed cassette spanning 11-34 teeth for real climbing range. Fulcrum Wind 42 Disc Brake carbon wheels keep the whole package light and aerodynamically efficient for an endurance bike, while the Syncros Creston iC SL carbon bar-and-stem combo and Syncros Tofino V1.0 cutout saddle round out a cockpit tuned for long days rather than short, hard efforts. Scott built the Addict to be genuinely equipped for all-day riding: a storage hatch integrated into the down tube near the bottom bracket holds a "Save the Day" flat-fix kit — a mini pump, tire levers, and a TPU spare tube — and a small multi-tool hides in the handlebar for on-the-fly adjustments. The Syncros seatpost even houses a built-in light rated for up to 20 hours of runtime.
At a claimed complete weight of 7.4kg, the Addict Premium doesn't ask riders to trade away performance for comfort. It's built for cyclists who want one bike capable of a fast group ride on Saturday and a long, unsupported century on Sunday — riders who value a bike that disappears underneath them over one that demands to be raced every time it leaves the garage.
