Q36.5 Adventure Winter Overtights Info
The Q36.5 Adventure Winter Overtights are a pair of winter cycling overtights built to go over the bib shorts or tights you already wear. Q36.5 positions them as extra protection you can put on and take off in a few seconds, which suits rides that start cold or forecasts that can't make up their mind.
Fabric Built for Cold and Wind
The shell is Q36.5's UF Hybrid Shell Plus, a high-density woven fabric. The inside face carries Heat Fiber, a lining Q36.5 makes from coffee bean processing residue and says absorbs far-infrared rays from the environment to help warm the body. Treat that as the brand's claim rather than a measured figure. The practical point is that this is a lined, wind-control layer, not a thin shell.
Q36.5 lists the fabric at 62% polyamide, 35% elastane, 2% silver and 1% TPU, so the high elastane content gives it stretch to move with your legs on the bike. The fabric gets a double DWR (durable water repellent) treatment, applied once to the yarn and again to the finished fabric, to shed light moisture and road spray. DWR is not waterproofing, so expect these to handle drizzle and wet roads rather than a sustained downpour. Q36.5 lists a wind-control range of roughly +5°C to +15°C (+41°F to +59°F).
On and Off Over Your Kit
Full-length cam-lock zippers run up the side of each leg so the overtights can go over bib shorts or tights. The zippers are reflective, and the overtights also carry reflective inserts for low-light riding. The waistband is micro fleece with a drawstring for fine adjustment, and elastic TPU bands with DWR on the back and calves help the overtights stay in place while you pedal.
Sizes run from XS to XXXL, and in size M the overtights weigh 255 g. That makes them a practical cold-weather layer for road and gravel riders who want added winter protection over the kit they already own.
