Pinarello F5 105 Di2 Bike Info
Pinarello F5 105 Di2 Bike is Pinarello's entry point into race-bred aerodynamics, built to carry the same design language as the brand's WorldTour machines down to a price that doesn't require a team budget. Pinarello builds the F line around a simple idea: a bike should climb without complaint and hold its line on a fast descent, not just look fast standing still.
The frame is Torayca T700 UD carbon, one step down from the T900 fiber used on the F7 above it in Pinarello's lineup, but it carries the same aero thinking. The downtube is reshaped with reduced thickness to cut drag, and the head tube uses Pinarello's E-TiCR headset design, an elliptical steering tube paired with a headset that runs wider bearings at the bottom and narrower ones at the top. That shape lets Pinarello move the internal cable routing from the sides of the steerer to the front, which narrows the head tube and cleans up the airflow around the cockpit.
Underneath, the F5 uses an Aero Keel bottom bracket, a lower-volume design borrowed from the Dogma F concept that trims material while adding stiffness where the frame needs it most for power transfer. A frontal integrated seat clamp keeps the seat tube junction clean and shields the clamp mechanism from road grit and sweat. The F Onda fork carries a 47mm rake, shaped for the kind of stable, confident steering Pinarello wants on a fast descent, and tire clearance opens up to 32mm, enough room to run a wider tire for comfort without changing the bike's race intent.
Shifting comes from Shimano's 105 Di2 groupset, the brand's entry-level electronic platform, running R7170 shifters and R7150 derailleurs with a 50/34 crankset and an 11-34 cassette. That gearing spans a genuinely wide range for a race bike, wide enough to handle a steep local climb without abandoning a big enough gear for flat, fast group rides. Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors front and rear give the F5 the same braking hardware found further up Pinarello's road lineup, so stopping power isn't where the savings show up.
Where the savings do show up is the wheels and cockpit, and Pinarello made sensible calls rather than cutting corners that matter. MOST Ultrafast 45 wheels give the F5 a genuine aero wheelset rather than a training-grade one, wrapped in 30mm MOST tires. The cockpit runs Pinarello's Jaguar Claw Ultra bar and stem in aluminum rather than carbon, which keeps weight and cost reasonable at this price point without touching the frame's aero shaping, since the bar and stem still carry the same Jaguar Claw profile Pinarello uses on its carbon options.
The F5 105 Di2 comes in nine frame sizes and three colorways: Fire Opal, Azzurra Lumina, and Bronze Mirage. At $5,500, it sits below the SRAM Force AXS and Ultegra Di2-equipped F7 in Pinarello's range, but it shares that bike's frame shape, aero details, and geometry. This is the bike for a rider who wants the Pinarello name, the electronic shifting, and the aero engineering, and is willing to trade the top-shelf carbon grade and a carbon cockpit to get there at a more approachable price.
