Scott Spark RC World Cup Bike Info
The Scott Spark RC World Cup Bike is the cross-country race bike Scott builds for riders competing at the highest level. The "World Cup" name isn't aspirational — it identifies the race circuit where this platform has been ridden to podiums across elite competition. Built around a fifth-generation HMF Carbon frame, the Spark RC World Cup is designed to go as fast as the rider can push it over a full XC course, lap after lap, without asking the rider to manage anything the bike can manage on its own.
The Spark RC HMF Carbon Gen5 frame is five iterations deep in Scott's carbon program. High Modulus Fiber gives the chassis a stiffness-to-weight balance that reads as responsive on out-of-saddle power efforts, planted in corners, and quiet over rough terrain where lighter layups transmit chatter. The Syncros Octopus cable integration system Gen2 routes all cables internally through the headset, eliminating external housing that adds aerodynamic drag, collects mud, and introduces noise. The adjustable head angle — tunable ±0.5° via the Syncros Acros headset — lets riders dial geometry to match their preferred setup or course character, a useful option for anyone on the cusp between sizes. BSA bottom bracket threading and a 55mm chainline position the drivetrain squarely for efficient power transfer.
RockShox Flight Attendant: Both Ends, Automatically
The suspension spec is where this bike makes its case. Both the fork and rear shock are RockShox Flight Attendant units — electronically controlled dampers that read terrain inputs continuously and switch automatically between lockout, pedaling mode, and descend. The front fork is a RockShox SID Ultimate Flight Attendant with an FA Race Day 3-position damper and 120mm of travel; the rear is a RockShox SIDLuxe Ultimate Flight Attendant, also 120mm, with the same automatic logic. Riders who have raced XC on manual suspension know the cost of getting a switch wrong — catching a descent with the fork locked out, or climbing at threshold with both ends open and bleeding power. Flight Attendant removes that variable. The front and rear units communicate, so the bike reads the same terrain hit from both wheels and responds in concert. For courses where a technical section feeds directly into a power climb, that coordination is worth more than the weight penalty of the electronics.
SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission and Syncros Cockpit
The drivetrain is SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission — a 12-speed wireless system using SRAM's T-Type rear derailleur, which integrates into the bike's UDH interface for a cleaner mount and better trail protection than a bolt-on hanger. The crankset is SRAM X0 Eagle AXS with an integrated spider power meter, pairing real-time wattage data with a 34-tooth chainring running against a 10-52 cassette — a range that handles sustained technical climbing without spinning out on fireroad descents. Shifting runs through SRAM AXS Rocker Pods rather than a traditional pod shifter, keeping the bar area clean. Braking is handled by SRAM Motive Silver 4-piston calipers with SRAM CLX Centerline rotors — 180mm up front, 160mm rear — which are well-matched to 120mm of suspension travel and race-pace trail speeds. The cockpit is a Syncros IC-M100-SL2 integrated bar and stem unit in HMF carbon, running 740mm bar width with 7° backsweep across all frame sizes. A Syncros dropper seatpost is included standard.
Wheels, Tires, and Build Details
Wheels are Syncros Silverton CF2 carbon, tubeless ready front and rear, wrapped in Maxxis Aspen 29x2.4 Race Edition tires — 120TPI casing, Maxxspeed compound, tubeless-compatible. The Aspen Race Edition is the fast-conditions XC tire that most competitive cross-country riders have settled on: low rolling resistance, predictable grip on hardpack and cross-country dirt, and light enough to not compromise the wheel's performance character. The saddle is the Syncros Celista Cut Out on Cr-Mo rails. The build includes the Syncros Save the Day tubeless repair kit and tool kit integrated into the handlebar, an SRAM AXS battery pack, Milkit sealant, and a transport axle. The Spark RC World Cup is available in sizes S through XL — all running 29-inch wheels — in Cumulus White / Carbon Black.
This is a purpose-built mountain bike for cross-country racing and fast technical trail riding. The geometry is position-forward, the suspension is tuned for XC efficiency first, and the component spec leaves no obvious upgrade path — it arrives at the level where the only variables are the rider and the course.
