Pivot Shuttle SL/AM Ride Eagle 70/90 Transmission Bike Info
Pivot Shuttle SL/AM Ride Eagle 70/90 Transmission Bike is the most accessible way into Pivot's lightweight e-MTB platform, priced at $8,499. It runs the same Bosch motor and carbon chassis as the higher-tier Shuttle SL/AM builds, with the savings coming from mechanical rather than wireless shifting and Performance-level rather than Factory-level suspension.
The motor and battery are unchanged from the rest of the lineup: a Bosch Performance Line SX system, which Bosch positions as its lightest and most compact e-bike motor, delivering up to 600 watts of peak power and 55Nm of torque from a 400Wh in-frame battery. That's the same lightweight, feel-forward setup found on Pivot's most expensive Shuttle SL/AM build, so buyers stepping into this price point aren't getting a weaker motor, just a different chassis spec around it. Riders who want more range can add Bosch's optional PowerMore 250 range extender, a bottle-shaped 250Wh unit that mounts to the frame and adds about 3.3 pounds. The Pivot x Bosch Flow app manages the system across seven ride modes, including Turbo, an eMTB-shortcrank mode, Sport, and Tour+.
The frame carries over the all-mountain geometry Pivot developed for its non-motorized Switchblade, built in carbon with 150mm of rear travel through Pivot's dw-link suspension and a 160mm-travel fork up front. On this build, that fork is a Fox Performance 36 with a GRIP damper, and the rear shock is a Fox Performance Float, both a step below the Factory-series suspension on Pivot's higher-end Shuttle SL/AM builds. The damping is less externally tunable as a result, but the travel numbers and suspension kinematics are identical, so the bike's underlying handling character carries over. Like the rest of the line, this XS size comes with mixed 27.5/29-inch wheels, built specifically to give smaller riders proper handling rather than a scaled-down big-bike feel.
The drivetrain is where this build diverges most from the pricier X0 AXS version: it runs SRAM's Eagle 90 Transmission mechanically, with a cable-actuated shifter and derailleur rather than wireless AXS. It still bolts directly to the frame's UDH-style mount rather than using a replaceable hanger, and it still runs a wide-range 12-speed, 10-52 cassette for steep, technical climbing. A Praxis Alloy eCranks E-MTB-specific crankset with a 34t chainring handles the pedaling side. SRAM DB8 Stealth 4-piston brakes on 200mm Centerline rotors provide the stopping power, and DT Swiss Hybrid H1900 aluminum wheels, an aluminum handlebar, and a JD/Pivot dropper post sized to each frame complete a build kit that trades some weight and refinement for a lower price without changing the core geometry or motor system. Maxxis Minion DHF and DHRII tires in 3C MaxxTerra compound with EXO+ casing carry over from the rest of the lineup.
The Shuttle SL/AM Ride Eagle 70/90 Transmission is available in Brownstone, Gloss Grey, and Jaclyn Purple across sizes XS through XL. For a rider who wants the Shuttle SL/AM's lightweight feel and Bosch motor without paying for wireless shifting or Factory suspension, this build gets you the same bike underneath at a lower cost of entry.
