Pivot Mach 4 SL Pro X0 Eagle Transmission Bike Info
The Pivot Mach 4 SL Pro X0 Eagle Transmission Bike is Pivot's cross-country race platform built around SRAM's X0 Eagle Transmission drivetrain and Fox suspension, positioned as the value entry into the Mach 4 SL lineup's electronic drivetrain builds. Pivot describes the Mach 4 SL as "XC, distilled to its fastest form," a bike developed alongside its World Cup racing program. At $8,799, this X0-level build keeps the same frame, suspension platform, and Transmission shifting technology found on the SL's higher-spec builds while trimming cost through the drivetrain and wheel spec.
Frame construction uses Pivot's highest-modulus carbon fiber, molded with the brand's proprietary Hollow Core technology, which the brand says trims 300 to 400 grams compared to the previous Mach 4 SL generation. Suspension runs on Pivot's dw-link design, using position-sensitive anti-squat to resist pedal bob under hard pedaling efforts while still working deeper in the stroke to absorb bigger hits. Travel is adjustable between 110mm and 120mm at the rear, paired with a 120mm fork, giving a rider room to set the bike up for a pure XC race or open it up slightly for a rougher course.
Fox Suspension
Up front, the Fox Factory 34 SL fork uses Fox's GRIP SL damper, built specifically for short-travel XC forks to cut weight without giving up small-bump sensitivity. A wraparound arch design adds torsional stiffness over Fox's previous XC fork platform, and inboard bypass channels keep bath oil circulating to the bushings and seals for smoother action through the stroke. A Fox Factory Float shock handles the rear, working with the dw-link layout to keep the bike efficient under power while still absorbing square-edge hits on technical XC terrain.
X0 Eagle Transmission Drivetrain
The SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission drivetrain uses SRAM's direct-mount, hangerless derailleur interface, which bolts straight to the frame at the rear axle instead of relying on a replaceable hanger. That mount is rated to withstand significant impact force before deforming, and the derailleur needs no B-tension or limit screw adjustment after setup. The SRAM X0 Eagle DUB crankset runs a single 34t chainring against a 10-52t XS-1295 Eagle Transmission cassette, shifted through an AXS Pod controller. Braking comes from SRAM Motive Silver four-piston hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm front and 160mm rear rotors, and a Fox Transfer Factory Series dropper post handles seat height, running on a mechanical actuator rather than the wireless AXS system found on pricier builds.
DT Swiss XR1700 wheels wrap in Maxxis Rekon TR tires in a 29x2.4 EXO casing, a tire built to roll fast while still holding a line on loose or rocky XC terrain. The finishing kit is built for racing over all-day comfort: a Phoenix Team Flat Carbon handlebar at 760mm, a 60mm Phoenix Team XC/Trail stem, and a narrow WTB Pro Volt saddle. The frame is available from XS through XL, with a head angle of 66 degrees and seat angle of 75 degrees across sizes, and reach spanning 410mm at XS to 495mm at XL, geometry built for stability at speed without losing the sharp cornering an XC racer needs on a tight lap.
This build suits a racer who wants the Mach 4 SL's frame technology and Transmission's shift reliability at a lower price than the Team-level builds, without needing top-tier drivetrain components or carbon wheels to get there. The mechanical Fox Transfer dropper and DT Swiss alloy-style wheels are the clearest places where this build trims cost relative to the higher-spec Mach 4 SL, while the frame, suspension, and drivetrain platform underneath remain identical.
