Pivot Shuttle SL Ride Eagle 70/90 Bike Info
The Pivot Shuttle SL Ride Eagle 70/90 Bike is Pivot's lightweight take on the trail e-bike, built around Fazua's compact Ride 60 system instead of a full-power mid-drive motor. Pivot calls it "Trail Riding's New Pulse" — a carbon-frame e-bike that leans into 150mm of front travel and 132mm out back rather than chasing bigger numbers, aimed at riders who want assist without the weight and bulk of a full-power eMTB. It's a different philosophy than Pivot's Shuttle AM line: smaller battery, lighter motor, and a chassis tuned to feel closer to an analog trail bike.
Power comes from the Fazua Ride 60 drive unit, a compact motor that weighs about 4.3 pounds and delivers up to 60Nm of torque — a fraction of the torque you'd get from a full-power system, but paired with a lighter overall build and a 450Wh battery mounted low and close to the bike's center of gravity. Pivot's stated approach with the Shuttle SL was to prioritize light weight, refined suspension, and crisp handling over raw power, and the motor placement reflects that: keeping mass centralized and low is what lets the bike hold a line through technical terrain the way an unassisted trail bike does, rather than feeling like it's carrying a battery pack.
The drivetrain runs SRAM's Eagle 90 Mechanical Transmission, which mounts directly to the frame instead of through a replaceable derailleur hanger — the same hangerless durability found on Pivot's other Eagle Transmission builds, just cable-actuated instead of wireless. It's matched to a 10-52t XS-1270 cassette and Eagle 70 Flattop chain, run through a Praxis ETOR E-MTB crankset with a 32t ring, a slightly smaller ring than Pivot specs on its full-power Shuttle AM builds to account for the Fazua system's lower peak torque. SRAM DB8 Stealth four-piston brakes handle stopping power, with 200mm front and 180mm rear Centerline rotors — a rear rotor size that reflects the bike's lighter overall weight compared to a full-power eMTB.
Suspension comes from Fox's Performance-tier dampers — a 150mm Fox Performance 36 fork with a GRIP damper and a Fox Performance Float X shock controlling 132mm out back. DT Swiss M1900 wheels on DT Swiss 370 hubs keep the rolling stock lightweight, and the tire spec follows the bike's trail-first intent: a fast-rolling Maxxis Dissector up front instead of a heavier-duty Minion DHF, paired with a Minion DHR II out back for cornering grip and durability where it matters most. It's a tire pairing built for covering ground efficiently rather than pure descending aggression.
Cockpit and contact points are Pivot's own Phoenix components, with an aluminum Race Low Rise handlebar on a Team Enduro/Trail stem and a dropper post scaling from 150mm on a small frame to 200mm on a large or XL. Geometry runs a 65 to 65.5-degree head angle and 76 to 76.5-degree seat angle across most of the size range — slightly steeper than Pivot's full-power Shuttle AM, in keeping with the SL's trail-bike character. The Shuttle SL Ride Eagle 70/90 Bike is for riders who want e-assist for bigger days and steeper climbs without giving up the light, responsive feel of an analog trail bike, available in Black Lime, Desert Sage Green, and Aspen White from size S to XL.
