Assos Equipe Winter Skin Layer P1

The Assos Equipe Winter Skin Layer P1 is a race-tuned baselayer built for high-intensity riding in cool conditions, not an all-day touring layer. Assos revisited its Skin Layer platform with racing specifically in mind, adding increased protection across the shoulders and chest — the areas most exposed to windchill when you're in an aggressive, low position — while keeping the rest of the layer light enough to avoid overheating once the effort picks up.

The construction is circular and seamless, with a body-mapped knit that varies thickness by zone: thicker across the chest, shoulders, and sleeves where wind hits hardest, and thinner across the stomach and back where breathability matters more than insulation. That targeted approach means the baselayer adds warmth exactly where a forward riding position needs it without turning the whole piece into a heavy layer. Assos also incorporated a new Dryarn fiber into the fabric, which improves breathability, moisture management, and odor control compared to the brand's standard Spring Fall Skin Layers.

This is a foundational piece meant to sit against the skin under a jersey or jacket, not a standalone layer, and it's built in Assos's unisex sizing (0, I, II) in Black Series. For riders doing structured training or racing in cold weather, this baselayer is designed to manage temperature and moisture at the layer that matters most — the one working hardest against your skin for the entire ride.
