Giordana Men's FR-C Pro Doppio Suit Info

The Giordana Men's FR-C Pro Doppio Suit takes its name from the Italian word for "double" — a fitting description for a one-piece that behaves like a skinsuit but unzips fully at the front like a traditional jersey. Giordana developed the Doppio for its Pro Teams, aiming for the aerodynamic advantage of a connected jersey and short without giving up the ability to vent or adjust on the fly. That hybrid approach is the whole point: race-day aero efficiency on a garment you can still manage mid-ride.

The jersey half uses an aerodynamic dual-stretch fabric with seamless panels across the chest, shoulders, and arms, cutting down on fabric flutter at speed. Ventilated underarm panels help manage heat through hard efforts, and an ergonomic collar keeps the neckline from digging in during a long time in the aero position. Down below, the shorts are built from Giordana's HC50 High Compression Power Lycra — a 220-gram, 50-thread-count fabric that's noticeably heavier and more compressive than standard bib fabric — with 190E woven elastic leg cuffs and an anti-abrasion seat panel for durability where it contacts the saddle most.

Giordana's Cirro S chamois anchors the suit's comfort, built with Aloe Vera infusion and shaped through Copa Mondiale's sculpted fit design, while an Ametista Carbon waist panel system manages the transition between jersey and short without adding bulk at the midsection. Three rear cargo pockets keep storage functional despite the suit's race-focused build, and reflective tabs on both sides add a margin of visibility. The Doppio suit is made in Italy and comes in Black and Olive, sizes XS through 3XL — built for riders racing time trials, criteriums, or any effort where every bit of aerodynamic drag matters more than casual comfort.

The RA Perspective

Skinsuits and doppio-style suits like this one aren't for every ride, and that's by design. Giordana built this specifically for racing, and it shows the moment you put it on — the HC50 shorts fabric is noticeably more compressive than a standard bib, and the seamless jersey panels are cut close enough that you feel the aero intent immediately.

The unzip-at-the-front design is the real advantage over a true skinsuit. On a hot criterium or a long road race, being able to open the jersey without pulling the whole suit down is a meaningful difference — riders who've raced in one-piece suits without that feature know how much of a hassle a bathroom break or a mid-race vent can be.

The tradeoff is fit forgiveness. This runs closer to the body than a jersey-and-bib combo, so riders between sizes should size up rather than down, and it's not the suit we'd recommend for all-day comfort rides. The compression that helps on a 40-minute crit effort can feel like a lot over four hours.

We'd point this toward racers doing time trials, criteriums, or road races where aerodynamics and a locked-in fit matter more than casual versatility.
