Q36.5 Dottore Gregarius Grid Skin Winter Bib Tights Info
The Q36.5 Dottore Gregarius Grid Skin Winter Bib Tights are winter bib tights with a protective layer built into the fabric. Q36.5 calls the layer GRDXKN, a 4D-printed structure integrated into recycled micro-fleece, and says it was tested in crash simulations up to 100 km/h. Most winter tights treat a fall as an afterthought. These treat it as part of the design brief.
Fabric and Warmth
The tights use UF Knit FleeceEco, a double-face knit. The outer face has a durable water-repellent treatment, and the inner face is a micro-fleece for insulation. The composition is 60% polyamide, 23% polyester and 17% elastane. Q36.5 lists a temperature range of 32°F to 50°F, which covers cold-morning training rides and most of a mild winter. At 288 grams in a medium, they are not heavy for a fleece-lined tight.
Q36.5 describes the brushed micro-fleece as a softer, more familiar feel than its more technical shells. If you have only worn thin, slick winter tights, the hand of this fabric is the first difference you'll notice.
Pattern and Chamois
The cut is pre-shaped for the riding position, with minimal seams and panels placed for muscle support. Q36.5 also lists an anti-stress cut in the pelvic zone and a chamois pattern with no central seam. The pad is a SuperMoulded-Anatomic construction using variable-density foam, a three-dimensional shape that follows the contours of the saddle contact area.
The tights are made in Italy. Q36.5 says production runs start to finish within a 350 square kilometer radius of its Bolzano headquarters.
Color and Fit
The Gregarius Grid Skin comes in Black in sizes XS through XXL. Check the size chart on this page before you order. Q36.5 cuts a close, supportive fit, and the fleece-lined fabric is meant to sit against the skin without gapping.
These are for riders who train through the winter, ride in cold and damp conditions, or want some protection in the fabric on rides where a slide is a real possibility.
