The Lake MX177 Shoe - Regular is built for aggressive riding on technical trails without giving up the comfort you need to wear it all day. Lake shapes the MX177 on its MX Sport Last, which uses a roomier toe box than the brand's Comfort last while still locking down the heel and midfoot, so your foot stays controlled through rough sections without feeling cramped on a long ride. It's a fit Lake designed as much for bikepackers and all-day trail riders as it is for aggressive mountain bike racers.

Underneath, the MX177 runs on Lake's Fiberglass-injected nylon sole, a proprietary construction the brand has built its reputation on for stiffness and power transfer without sacrificing comfort. The sole pairs with a Supergrip Enduro outsole and Ice Lock anti-slip lug inserts for traction when you're off the bike and hiking a technical section, and a real rubber sole underneath keeps the shoe practical for walking around before and after a ride.

On top, a Clarino microfiber and mesh upper balances durability with breathability, and Lake secures the fit with a BOA L6 dial closure. Carbitex panels on the tongue reduce friction against the BOA cable, so micro-adjustments on the fly stay smooth instead of catching. The MX177 comes in Beetle/Black and Black/Black Reflective colorways and is also available in a wide fitting for riders who need more room across the forefoot. One note on sizing: sizes 36-38 don't accept toe spikes, so riders in that range planning to add spikes for extra off-bike traction should size up or look at a different model.
