Casco esférico Giro Tyrant Info

Cumple con el estándar de seguridad CPSC de EE. UU. para cascos de bicicleta para personas de 5 años o más.

The RA Perspective

The Tyrant is the trail helmet we reach for when someone wants serious protection without going to a full-face. The MIPS Spherical system is genuinely different from the standard MIPS liner approach — having both EPS and EPP foam in a ball-and-socket configuration means the helmet addresses a broader spectrum of crashes, not just the high-speed rotational impact that standard MIPS targets. For trail and enduro riding where crashes happen at varying speeds and on varied surfaces, that wider coverage matters.

The HardBody lower wrap is a detail that doesn't get talked about enough. The lower edge of a helmet takes more abuse on trail — clipping rocks, branches, the ground on a roll — and having polycarbonate there adds real durability without making the helmet noticeably heavier. We've seen helmets come back with cracked lower sections that a harder shell would have survived.

At $120 on sale from $160, the Tyrant is priced well for what it delivers. MIPS Spherical at this price point is a legitimate deal — you more commonly see this technology on helmets $50–100 more expensive. The Roc Loc Air DH fit is stable on rough terrain, which matters when you're descending and don't want to be pushing your helmet back into position. The Stack Ventilation and goggle-staging visor are well-executed for riders who run goggles on technical sections and swap to glasses on the climbs.

If you've been looking at full-face helmets for their protection level but want something you can wear all day on mixed terrain, the Tyrant is worth trying on first.
