Kuat Ratchet Arm

When a ratchet arm wears out on your Kuat rack, this is the part you need — if you have the original NV or Sherpa. The Kuat Ratchet Arm is a direct replacement for the first-generation Kuat rack lineup: the NV, NV Add-On, and Sherpa platform hitch racks. Finished in Black Metallic, it restores the arm to factory spec without requiring a full rack replacement.

Compatibility note: This arm fits the original NV series and original Sherpa only — not the 2.0 generation of either rack. If your rack is an NV 2.0, NV 2.0 Add-On, NV Base 2.0, or Sherpa 2.0, you'll need the Ratchet Arm Assembly 2.0 instead. If you're unsure which generation you have, the model name is printed on a label on the rack's hitch arm.

The ratchet arm is the component that holds your bike's top tube securely in the cradle during transport. When it wears or cracks, the rack's clamping force drops — replacing it restores the holding strength to spec and keeps your bikes secure through corners, highway speeds, and rough roads.
