Oakley RSLV Lite Glasses Info

The Oakley RSLV Lite Glasses take the standard RSLV and remove the lower frame entirely, trading a small amount of structure for a wider field of vision and a noticeably lighter feel on the face. It's the kind of change that matters most in the drops, where a lower frame edge can clip into your sightline right when you need to see the road ahead most clearly.

The half-frame design is molded from Oakley's O-Matter thermoplastic, which keeps the glasses light without feeling delicate, and the lens itself is a 5-base cylindrical PRIZM design that swaps out in seconds. RA carries this model with four lens and frame pairings — PRIZM Road for balanced contrast on tarmac, PRIZM 24k for bright, high-glare conditions, PRIZM Road Black for darker, low-light tuning, and a Clear-to-Black Photochromic option that adjusts automatically as light changes through a ride. Whichever lens you choose, Oakley's Plutonite lens material blocks 100% of UVA, UVB, and UVC rays along with harmful blue light up to 400nm.

A ventilation gap between the lens and frame keeps airflow moving to cut down on fogging during hard efforts, and Unobtainium grip material on the nose pad and temple tips holds the glasses in place as you sweat rather than letting them slide. The frame also meets ANSI Z87.1 impact resistance standards, so the weight savings from the half-frame design don't come at the expense of protection. It's built for riders who want the RSLV's optics without the added frame around the lower lens.

The RA Perspective

We recommend the RSLV Lite over the standard RSLV for riders who spend most of their time in an aggressive position — the removed lower frame genuinely opens up your view when you're looking up the road from the drops, which is where a lot of glasses start to feel restrictive.

The lens choice is worth thinking through before ordering. PRIZM Road is the safe do-everything option for most daylight riding, PRIZM 24k is noticeably better on bright, high-glare days but can feel too dark under cloud cover, and the Photochromic option is the one to reach for if your rides regularly move between sun and shade rather than staying in one condition all day.

Fit-wise, these run true to Oakley's usual sizing and suit riders with larger head shapes well, thanks to the wider frame geometry. The ventilation gap does its job on hot rides, though riders coming from a fully enclosed lens shape may notice a bit more airflow around the eyes than they're used to.

We'd point this at a road or gravel rider who rides in the drops often and wants the widest possible sightline without giving up UV and impact protection.
