If you ride in mixed conditions or early mornings, the PRIZM Road version at 20% VLT is the more versatile choice within the Encoder lineup. But for dedicated bright-light riding, PRIZM Black delivers.

At $293, the Encoder is $55 less than the Kato. You get a more conventional design and Unobtainium earsocks rather than the Kato's interchangeable nose pad system. For a lot of riders, that's the better fit anyway — and the savings are real.
