The RA Perspective

This is one of the more expensive single components we sell, and we're upfront with customers about that: it's a marginal-gains upgrade, not something that transforms how a bike rides. If your drivetrain is already clean and well-maintained, the friction reduction is real but subtle — the kind of thing that shows up over a long race or a season of racing, not something you feel in the first pedal stroke.

The build quality is what stands out most in hand. The 3D-printed titanium cage feels noticeably more refined than earlier CeramicSpeed OSPW generations, and the reinforced design addresses a legitimate complaint some riders had with older cages flexing under hard shifts. The coated ceramic bearings spin smoothly right out of the box and have held up well for the customers we've sold this to.

The honest tradeoff is price. At two grand for a pulley system, this only makes sense once everything else on the bike — wheels, tires, position — is already optimized. We'd steer someone with a mid-pack drivetrain toward cheaper upgrades first.

For racers and serious enthusiasts who've already covered the bigger performance gains and are looking for what's left, this is a well-built way to find it.
