The Ardennes has been around long enough that it's easy to overlook, but that longevity is exactly the point — HED built the "all-road" category before most brands had a name for it, and the RA Pro is still one of the more versatile aluminum wheelsets we sell.

The 21mm internal width is the spec that actually matters day to day. It's wide enough to run a proper 28mm or 32mm tire with good support, so if you're the type of rider who swaps between a road tire for group rides and something wider for weekend gravel, you don't need a second wheelset to do it.

The tradeoff is what you'd expect from an aluminum wheel at this weight and price: it won't have the damping feel of a carbon wheel over rough pavement, and at 1,555 grams it's not going to disappear underneath you on a long climb.
