Cervelo P5 Dura-Ace Di2 Bike Info
The Cervelo P5 Dura-Ace Di2 Bike is Cervelo's flagship triathlon and time trial bike — the bike that Team Jumbo-Visma rode to Giro d'Italia and Tour de France victories in 2023. That race pedigree is the starting point for understanding what the P5 is and what it's designed to do. This is a bike built entirely around one goal: converting rider power into maximum speed over long, sustained efforts. Not a road bike with aero features added in. Not a triathlon-oriented compromise. A purpose-built TT and triathlon machine, at $14,500, configured with the drivetrain, wheels, and integrated storage to race at the highest level.
The carbon frame's tube profiles are shaped to minimize drag across the full rider-bike system — but the real story on this generation of P5 is the cockpit. The one-piece front end, a design Cervelo first developed for the S5 road bike, integrates basebar, riser, and stem into a single assembly that reduces complexity and eliminates the cable routing compromises of older modular systems. Stack adjustability extends up to 40mm, making it possible to build significantly different positions on the same frame. The riser adjusts extension tilt from 0 to 30 degrees in 5-degree increments — the kind of granular control a fit specialist needs to optimize pad height, reach, and angle for an athlete's specific biomechanics. The basebar itself runs 10mm lower than the previous generation to reduce frontal area further. A Cervelo All-Carbon Bayonet P5 fork handles the front end, with the Cervelo SP23 Carbon seatpost at the rear. On a TT bike, position is the single biggest determinant of speed, and the P5's cockpit is built to let a rider and their fitter get it right.
Shifting is handled by Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9250 front and rear derailleurs — Shimano's current flagship 12-speed electronic groupset. The system delivers crisp, consistent shifts from both the Profile Design 52ASC aero extensions and the Dura-Ace R9180 brake/shift levers on the basebar, with internal battery routing keeping the cockpit clean and the system reliable under race-day pressure. The crankset is a Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 with a 4iiii Precision Pro GEN3+ Dual-Sided Power Meter already integrated — left and right power data from the factory, no separate unit to install or calibrate. Chainrings run 54/40, paired to a Dura-Ace 12-speed 11-34 cassette, which gives enough top-end gear for flat course speed and enough range to handle climbing without spinning out the bottom. A CeramicSpeed SL BBright bottom bracket reduces friction at the pedaling interface. Hydraulic disc braking comes from Shimano Dura-Ace R9180 calipers with CL900 Centerlock rotors — consistent stopping from race speeds regardless of conditions.
The wheel package is Reserve 77TA at the front and Reserve 88TA at the rear, both laced to DT Swiss 180 hubs, both tubeless-compatible, both thru-axle. Reserve builds these wheels using their Turbulent Aero program, an R&D methodology that uses real-world wind data to tune rim profiles for the yaw conditions riders encounter on actual courses. The 88mm rear rim is optimized for sustained aero output; the 77mm front balances speed with enough crosswind stability to stay on line in exposed triathlon conditions where a deeper front rim can become unpredictable. Tires are Vittoria Corsa Pro TLR G2.0 in 700x29 — a tubeless-ready racing tire with a strong track record in elite triathlon for low rolling resistance and long-distance durability. The frame clears up to 700x34 for riders who want to run something wider on rougher courses.
Cervelo has equipped this P5 with a complete nutrition and hydration system built for Ironman-distance racing. The Cervelo Rear Hydration Mount provides accessible fluid storage integrated into the bike's aero profile. Cervelo P5 Stem Storage mounts to the front end for nutrition, and the Cervelo Smartpak Top Tube Storage Bag 400 puts calories within easy reach mid-ride. Getting the feeding strategy right over 112 miles affects the run, and purpose-built storage means less fumbling under fatigue. Sitting between rider and bike is a Selle Italia WATT 3D Kit Carbonio Superflow saddle — a wide-nose design intended for the forward hip position that a proper TT fit demands. The P5 is available in six sizes from 48cm to 61cm in Five Black / Black; the 61cm is a newer addition to the lineup, giving taller athletes access to proper TT geometry without compromise. Pedals are not included.
