Cervelo P 105 Race Bike Info

The Cervelo P 105 Race Bike is a complete triathlon build at $5,300 — carbon P-Series frame, Reserve 40/44 carbon wheels, Profile Design aero cockpit, and a 4iiii Precision power meter integrated into the crankset from the factory. The P-Series sits directly below the P5 in Cervelo's lineup, inheriting wind tunnel development and race testing from the bike that powers WorldTour TT stages. What the P-Series adds over pure TT hardware is triathlon versatility: adjustable fit geometry, a flexible cockpit architecture, and internal frame storage designed for the demands of a long course race day.

The carbon frame is built around a D-shaped steerer fork with a round stem interface — Cervelo's deliberate choice to keep the cockpit system open rather than proprietary. Any compatible basebar and extension setup can mount without adapter hardware, which matters as a triathlete's position evolves across seasons or changes between race distances. The seat tube angle is adjustable between 75 and 79 degrees, giving riders the ability to dial in a true triathlon-specific hip position independent of saddle height. That four-degree range is a real fit tool, not a nominal spec — the difference between 75 and 79 degrees places a rider's hips in a meaningfully different relationship to the pedals, affecting power output and run legs in ways that matter across a full Ironman bike leg. The Cervelo SP23 Carbon seatpost handles the saddle interface. Frame storage is built in: Cervelo's Smartpak Top Tube Storage Bag 400 and two in-frame storage rolls — one for an inner tube, one for a flat kit — are integrated into the frame rather than strapped on.

Shifting is Shimano 105 R7100 12-speed mechanical, front and rear, operated by microSHIFT BS-A12 bar-end shifters in the traditional TT configuration that keeps hands locked into the aero position between gear changes. The crankset is Shimano 105 R7100 with a 52/36T chainring setup and a 4iiii Precision GEN3+ single-sided power meter built directly into the left crank arm. Including a power meter in the build at this price is a significant spec decision — the 4iiii Precision GEN3+ measures left-leg power and broadcasts via ANT+ and Bluetooth, giving the rider training and race data without a separate purchase or retrofit. The cassette is Shimano 105 R7101 12-speed in an 11-34T spread. Braking is handled by the Riderever Triva Carbon hydraulic disc system — calipers and levers — running through Shimano CL700 Centerlock rotors. Riderever's Triva system is built specifically for TT and triathlon applications, with aero-profile lever bodies that maintain clean lines through the front end at speed.

Reserve 40 and Reserve 44 carbon wheels come front and rear respectively — an asymmetric pairing by design. The 40mm front provides crosswind stability on open race courses; the 44mm rear runs in the more protected airspace behind the frame and pushes the aero benefit where it's most usable. Both wheels are tubeless compatible, use Reserve's own hubs, and run 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear thru-axle. The Vittoria Corsa N.EXT TLR G2.0 in 700x29 is a fast tubeless-ready race tire. The cockpit is built around the Profile Design Wing 10A, 52A, and SuperSonic aerobar assembly — a professional-grade tri cockpit with real extension adjustability mounted on the Cervelo ST36 alloy stem. A Profile Design Axis Ultimate Carbon bottle cage sits at the aerobar position.

The race-day support package is complete out of the box. Cervelo's Rear Hydration Mount and Front Computer/Accessory Mount 810 are both included alongside the integrated storage. The Cervelo Tri Saddle closes out the build. Six sizes cover 48 through 61, with size-specific crank lengths ranging from 160mm (size 48) to 172.5mm (size 61). For athletes who want a race-ready triathlon bike with a power meter and carbon wheels without piecing together components separately, the P 105 makes a clear case for its price.

The RA Perspective

The P 105 is one of the most complete out-of-the-box triathlon builds we've seen at this price point. The 4iiii power meter is the detail that stands out first — it's integrated into the crankset at the factory, which means you're race-ready without any additional purchases or installation before your first event. Price out a quality power meter separately and the math gets very clear, very quickly.

The adjustable seat tube angle — 75 to 79 degrees — is what makes this a serious triathlon bike rather than a road bike in a modified position. Getting that angle right is critical in triathlon: your hip position affects power output, it affects how your legs feel when you come off the bike, and it determines whether your aero position is sustainable across 112 miles or just the first 30. The P 105 can be properly dialed in, not approximated.

The Reserve 40/44 wheel pairing is asymmetric on purpose, and that's the right call. A 40mm front is what you actually want on most triathlon courses, which expose you to crosswinds on open roads and highways. The 44mm rear runs in protected airspace and can go deeper for the aero benefit without the handling penalty. That's how experienced athletes spec their race wheels, and Cervelo put it in the build.

The internal storage — SmartPak, in-frame rolls — removes one more variable on race day. Nutrition and flat kit integrated into the frame rather than strapped on means one less thing to think about between T1 and the finish line. The bike was designed for racing, and the details reflect that.
