Scott Spark RC Team Bike Info
The Scott Spark RC Team Bike puts the fifth-generation HMF Carbon Spark RC chassis into reach at $5,499. The frame is the same Spark RC HMF Carbon Gen5 found in the Pro and World Cup builds — same geometry, same Syncros Octopus cable integration, same adjustable head angle. What changes is the suspension spec, drivetrain tier, and wheel material. For a rider whose priority is the platform rather than the top-of-range components, the Team is where the Spark RC story starts.
The Gen5 HMF Carbon frame carries the full set of features that define the Spark RC line: internal cable routing via the Syncros Octopus Gen2 system, adjustable head angle tunable ±0.5° through the Syncros Acros headset, UDH rear derailleur interface for clean integration with SRAM's T-Type drivetrain, and a 55mm chainline running through a BSA bottom bracket. The geometry is identical to the Pro and World Cup — 65.9° head angle, 434mm chainstays, reach figures from 430mm to 505mm across S through XL, all on 29-inch wheels. The Syncros dropper seatpost is included standard.
RockShox SID Suspension, 120mm Front and Rear
The fork is a RockShox SID with a Rush RL damper and 3-position manual lever — lockout, an intermediate trail position, and fully open — running a 15x110mm Maxle Stealth axle with rebound adjustment. The Rush RL is RockShox's capable XC-focused damper: not the electronically controlled Flight Attendant unit of the World Cup, but a well-tuned manual system that most XC riders will find more than sufficient. The rear shock is a RockShox SIDLuxe Select+, also 3-position manual, with a Solo Air spring and Lockout-Pedal-Descend mode selection. Both ends run 120mm of travel, and the rear shock dimensions (190x45mm) are identical across the entire Spark RC lineup. Riders who prefer to manage their suspension manually, or who don't want the battery dependency and setup complexity of electronic dampers, will find the SID setup a straightforward, reliable option.
SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS Transmission
The drivetrain is built around SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS Transmission — SRAM's entry point into the T-Type wireless ecosystem, with the same UDH-integrated mounting architecture as the X0 on the World Cup. Shifting is wireless via SRAM AXS Rocker Pods, running a 34-tooth chainring on the SRAM Eagle 70 crankset against a 12-speed 10-52 cassette. There is no integrated power meter on this build. Braking is handled by SRAM DB6 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with Centerline CL rotors — 180mm front, 160mm rear — the same rotor sizing as the higher builds and a solid stopping package for 120mm of XC travel.
Syncros Silverton AL2 Wheels and Aluminum Cockpit
The most tangible difference from the Pro and World Cup builds is the wheel and cockpit material. The Spark RC Team rolls on Syncros Silverton AL2 aluminum wheels, tubeless ready front and rear — a meaningful weight and stiffness step from the CF2 carbon wheels on the upper tiers, but a competent tubeless-ready platform for training and club-level racing. The integrated bar and stem is Syncros IC-M100-AL2 aluminum, running the same 740mm width and 7° backsweep as the carbon cockpit above it. Tires are Maxxis Aspen 29x2.4 in EXO casing, 120TPI, tubeless-compatible with Maxxspeed compound. The Spark RC Team is available in Cream Green / Carbon Black and Spectral Black, in sizes S through XL.
At $5,499, the Team is the most practical entry point into a Gen5 Spark RC — a bike that shares its most important attribute, the frame, with the models above it, and delivers a complete, race-capable XC build for riders who don't need carbon wheels or automated suspension to get what they're looking for out of cross-country riding.
