Scott Spark RC Pro Bike Info
The Scott Spark RC Pro Bike is built on the same fifth-generation HMF Carbon platform as Scott's flagship World Cup, paired with Fox Factory Kashima suspension and Shimano XTR Di2 electronic shifting. At $8,999, it's the Spark RC for riders who want the full race-capable chassis with a Fox and Shimano spec — a combination that represents a deliberate build philosophy, not a step down.
The frame is Spark RC HMF Carbon Gen5 throughout — the same architecture Scott's World Cup athletes ride. High Modulus Fiber carbon gives the chassis a stiff, efficient ride character that climbs well and handles cleanly at race pace. The Syncros Octopus cable integration system Gen2 routes all cables internally through the headset, keeping the front end uncluttered and protected from mud and debris. The Syncros Acros headset includes adjustable head angle geometry, tunable ±0.5°, which lets riders fine-tune handling to suit course character or personal preference. The drivetrain mount uses BSA bottom bracket threading with a 55mm chainline, positioned for efficient power transfer to the rear wheel.
Fox Factory Kashima: 120mm Front and Rear
The suspension spec is Fox Factory at both ends, with Kashima coating on both the fork stanchions and shock body — Fox's friction-reducing anodized finish that produces noticeably smoother small-bump sensitivity. The fork is a Fox 34SL Factory with the Grip SL damper, a unit built specifically for XC racing: the "SL" designation marks it as Fox's Super Light XC fork, trimmed for weight without compromising the damping control that matters on a race course. It runs a 15x110mm Kabolt axle and offers full rebound adjustment with a 3-position lever for lockout, open, and an intermediate position. The rear shock is a Fox Float Factory EVOL Kashima, tuned by Scott for the Spark's suspension kinematics, with a Traction Control platform mode between full lockout and full open — Fox's XC-specific intermediate setting designed to reduce pedal bob on climbing terrain without fully shutting down the suspension. Both units are manual: the rider controls the mode via bar-mounted remotes. At 120mm front and rear, this is XC travel with XC-race damper tuning throughout.
Shimano XTR Di2 Drivetrain
Shifting is handled by Shimano XTR Di2 M9250 — Shimano's top-tier electronic mountain group, running a 12-speed 10-51 cassette with a 34-tooth chainring on the Shimano XTR M9200 crankset. XTR Di2 uses Shimano's wired electronic architecture: reliable, fast-actuating, and consistent in any weather condition. Braking is XTR M9220 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with Shimano CL900 rotors — 180mm at the front, 160mm at the rear — which provide strong, modulated stopping power well-matched to the bike's race-pace use case. A Shimano Di2 battery pack powers the system and is included in the build. The cockpit is the same as the World Cup: a Syncros IC-M100-SL2 integrated bar and stem in HMF carbon, 740mm wide with 7° backsweep across all frame sizes. Shifting inputs come through Shimano's XTR Di2 lever interface rather than wireless paddle pods, which some riders prefer for its tactile feel and precise actuation.
Wheels, Tires, and Supporting Build
Wheels are Syncros Silverton CF2 carbon, tubeless ready front and rear — the same wheelset found on the World Cup build. Tires are Maxxis Aspen 29x2.4 in the EXO casing with Maxxspeed compound, 120TPI, tubeless-compatible. The EXO sidewall protection gives this build slightly more durability on rough or rocky terrain compared to the Race Edition casing on the World Cup spec. A Syncros dropper seatpost is included, as is the Syncros Save the Day tubeless repair kit and tool kit integrated into the handlebar. The Pro ships in Obsidian Purple / Carbon Black in sizes S through XL, all on 29-inch wheels.
The Spark RC Pro is the right choice for riders committed to the Spark RC platform who prefer Fox suspension feel, Shimano XTR Di2's shifting character, or simply don't need the automated suspension and integrated power meter of the World Cup build. The frame, geometry, and carbon spec are identical — what changes is how the rider interacts with the suspension and drivetrain.
