The Scott Addict RC 10 Bike is Scott's race-focused carbon road platform — the more purposeful counterpart to the endurance-oriented Addict. The "RC" designation means Race Carbon, and the distinction goes beyond geometry. The Addict is built around compliance and all-day comfort; the Addict RC is built around stiffness, power transfer, and a riding position that prioritizes speed over sustained ease. At the same price point as the endurance Addict, the two bikes represent a genuine choice about riding intent. The Addict RC 10 arrives with Shimano Ultegra Di2 wireless electronic shifting, a fully integrated Syncros carbon cockpit, Syncros Capital 1.0S 40mm carbon wheels, and traditional race-spec gearing with a 52/36 chainring setup — the configuration of a bike meant to go fast when it matters.
The Addict RC HMX carbon frame uses airfoil-profiled tube shapes throughout, a geometry that serves aerodynamics and stiffness at once. The race geometry delivers an elongated reach and reduced stack compared to the Addict — riders sit lower and further forward, and the difference is significant. Scott engineers the two platforms so that 0mm of spacers on the Addict gives the same riding position as 35mm of spacers on the Addict RC. The Addict RC's bottom bracket stiffness ranks among the highest in its category in independent laboratory testing, which translates directly into pedaling efficiency: less flex under hard efforts, more power to the rear wheel. Tire clearance runs to 34mm — workable for wider setups but narrower than the Addict's 38mm, a deliberate choice that reflects the RC's racing priority over versatility.
The cockpit is built around the Syncros IC-R100-SL Carbon Combo, a fully integrated stem and handlebar as one carbon piece. Cables and hydraulic hoses route through the unit entirely internally, producing a completely clean front end with no exposed lines from lever to frame. The IC-R100-SL is the same integrated cockpit found on Scott's higher-spec Addict RC builds and delivers the uncluttered aesthetic that race machines are built around. One practical note: integrated cockpits fix the relationship between bar reach and stem length, so fit should be dialed in before ordering — adjustments are less flexible than a traditional two-piece setup. The Syncros iS Drop Bar Tool 2 accessory integrates directly into the handlebar, providing discreet in-bar storage for tools and emergency supplies. The seatpost is the Syncros SP-R101-CF carbon unit.
The drivetrain is Shimano Ultegra Di2 R8170 — 12-speed wireless electronic shifting with Shimano's proven accuracy and reliability. Ultegra Di2 delivers the same electronic precision as Dura-Ace at a more accessible spec, with crisp gear changes under power and seamless integration with the frame's internal routing. The crankset is Shimano Ultegra R8100 with 52/36 chainrings — traditional race gearing suited to rolling and flat terrain without sacrificing top-end speed. The wheels are Syncros Capital 1.0S 40mm disc brake carbon — spec'd from Scott's own Syncros brand to pair with the Addict RC's race character. At 40mm, the rim depth balances aerodynamic return with manageable crosswind handling, placing them in the depth range commonly used in road racing. Tires are Schwalbe One Race-Guard 700x30 tubeless-ready, narrower than the endurance Addict's 34mm to match the RC's performance priority.
