Cervelo Caledonia 105 Di2 Bike Info
Cervelo has been building performance-focused road bikes since 1995, and the company’s approach has always started with engineering rather than aesthetics. The Cervelo Caledonia 105 Di2 Bike is the all-around expression of that philosophy: a carbon road bike with endurance geometry, clean aerodynamic lines, and a component spec built around real-world riding rather than race-day show builds. At $4,500 with full Shimano 105 Di2 electronic shifting, hydraulic disc brakes, and a carbon seatpost, it sits in a part of the market where few bikes deliver this much Cervelo for this much money.
The frame and all-carbon fork are built around endurance-oriented geometry — a taller head tube, relaxed reach, and consistent 415mm chainstays across the entire size run from 48cm to 61cm — designed to put riders in a position they can sustain for hours rather than one optimized purely for output. Cervelo’s aerodynamic tube shaping is present throughout, and the frame carries a clean, purposeful profile that doesn’t sacrifice looks for practicality. Cable and hydraulic hose routing runs internally through a mechanic-friendly system that supports both fully-integrated cockpit setups and standard semi-external routing, so you get the clean aesthetic without the service headaches of a fully locked-in system. The Cervelo SP19 carbon seatpost adds meaningful compliance from the saddle down — especially on long days when that flex accumulates over hours — and removable fender mounts at the front and rear mean the bike is genuinely usable year-round without modification.
The BBright bottom bracket shell — Cervelo’s proprietary 79mm asymmetric design — sits at the core of the drivetrain’s power transfer. It’s a wider-than-standard shell that improves stiffness between frame and crankset without resorting to a press-fit design, and the T47 threading keeps it straightforward to service. Bolted to it is the Shimano 105 R7100 crankset with 52/36 chainrings, feeding into 12-speed 105 Di2 front and rear derailleurs. What Di2 changes in everyday riding is often subtle until it isn’t: the rapid-fire shifts on a climb when you’re already fatigued, the ability to keep your hands on the bars through a technical descent, the absence of cable stretch creeping in over thousands of kilometers. The R7150 system delivers those shifts consistently. The 11-34 cassette covers most terrain, and the R7170 hydraulic disc calipers on Shimano CL700 Centerlock rotors provide braking that doesn’t fade in the wet or demand calibrated hand strength on longer descents.
Wheels are Vision Team i23 discs — tubeless-compatible on both the 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear axles — and the complete build ships with Vittoria Corsa N.EXT TLR G2.0 tires at 700x32. That’s a spec worth noting at this price point. The Corsa N.EXT is Vittoria’s flagship all-conditions road tire, built around a graphene-enhanced compound designed for low rolling resistance without sacrificing grip in mixed conditions. At 32mm, the setup leans into the Caledonia’s endurance mission: more air volume absorbs road chatter that stiffer frames transmit directly, and the wider contact patch gives the bike a planted, confident feel in corners that narrower tires don’t provide at comparable pressures. Running them tubeless — which the Vision i23 wheels are built to support — reduces rolling resistance further and adds flat resistance for all-season riding. Cervelo includes a front computer mount and rear accessory mount, so integration with a GPS head unit is clean without additional hardware.
The Caledonia 105 Di2 is aimed at the rider who doesn’t want to choose between a fast road bike and a practical one. It handles the Saturday morning group ride, the early-season wet-road training block, and the gran fondo with the same platform — endurance geometry, electronic shifting, hydraulic brakes, and tires wide enough for the roads that most rides actually cover. Cervelo positions the Caledonia for all-season riders and fondo racers, and the spec supports that at every touchpoint. The bike is available in Nightshift and Mocha colorways across six sizes from 48cm to 61cm. Pedals are not included.
