Cuadro ENVE Melee - Energías totales Info
The ENVE Melee Frameset – Total Energies is ENVE's dedicated performance road platform wearing the livery of Team TotalEnergies, the French pro continental squad known for competing at the sport's highest level across Europe. The connection goes beyond cosmetics — the Melee is the race-spec carbon chassis ENVE built for riders who need a frameset that performs under real competition pressure: criteriums, road races, and the fast group riding where handling precision and power transfer are non-negotiable. ENVE Composites established its reputation through carbon wheels before extending that engineering discipline into frames, and the Melee reflects that origin — it was designed from the start to work within the ENVE product ecosystem, not alongside it. The chassis package includes the frame, ENVE M.O.D. carbon fork, integrated headset, Integrated Aero Stem, SES AR Handlebar, and aero seatpost. Drivetrain and wheels are your choice.
ENVE builds the Melee around their Material Optimized Design (M.O.D.) process. Carbon fiber runs continuously through the frame and fork rather than being patched between sections — the laminate tapers and the fiber orientation shifts zone by zone to meet specific performance targets. Stiffness through the bottom bracket and chainstays, compliance in the seatstays, impact resistance at the high-stress junctions where race riding puts the hardest loads. Rather than building a frame that's uniformly stiff and treating that as a performance claim, M.O.D. means each section does exactly what it needs to do and nothing more. The weight savings from removing excess material are a byproduct of this methodology — this is how ENVE builds everything they make in house, applied here to a full race frame platform. The result is a ride that's direct, precise, and responsive without being unforgiving.
Aerodynamics on the Melee start in CFD and finish in the wind tunnel, developed under ENVE's Real-World Fast™ approach. Rather than running tests at 50+ mph, ENVE tested at both 32 kph (20 mph) and 48 kph (30 mph) — the speeds that reflect how competitive cyclists actually race and push on the road. The tube profiles were developed specifically to complement ENVE SES wheel rim shapes, so airflow between the rim edge, downtube, fork legs, and rear stays is managed as a coordinated system. Riders who pair the Melee with ENVE SES or Foundation wheels realize the full benefit of that design intent. The Integrated Front-End extends this further: brake hoses, housing, and wires route through the bar, stem, and headset using ENVE's anti-rattle finishing kit, keeping the front end aerodynamically clean and quiet without giving up the serviceability of a two-piece cockpit.
The Integrated Aero Stem runs at -7 degrees and is available in six lengths from 80 to 130mm, pairing with the SES AR Handlebar so reach can be dialed in without replacing the entire front end assembly. It is also compatible with the ENVE x K-Edge Aero Stem accessory mount, accommodating a computer or accessory without separate bar clamps. The aero seatpost features a Kamm tail profile with ENVE's patented twin-bolt saddle rail clamp, available in straight or 20mm setback and compatible with 7x7, 7x9, and 7x10mm rail configurations — most saddle brands will mount directly without adapters. The threaded T47 bottom bracket shell eliminates the noise and flex that can develop in press-fit shells over time and keeps drivetrain installation predictable across platforms. The Melee accepts mechanical Shimano, electronic wired, and electronic wireless groups in both 1x and 2x; mechanical compatibility is limited to Shimano, as the internal routing requires continuous housing from shifter to derailleur.
Seven frame sizes from 47 to 60cm, combined with five fork rakes, give the Melee coverage across the full rider size range while maintaining consistent handling character — ENVE added the additional rake options specifically so their smallest and largest riders experience the same responsive, confidence-building geometry as those in the middle of the range. Handlebar width, stem length, and seatpost setback are chosen à la carte, so the cockpit isn't predetermined by frame size. Geometry is tuned for 27 to 32mm tires, where the Melee's handling is sharpest and its character comes through most clearly. Maximum tire clearance extends to 35mm when the day calls for more volume, but the Melee is a road racer — that clearance is contingency, not design intent. The Total Energies colorway, bold yellow, red, and black drawn directly from the French pro team's race kit, is a special edition finish on what is fundamentally one of the most complete race framesets available under $5,000.
