The RA Perspective

Track framesets don't come with a lot of compromise at this level, and the Electron Pro RIO Sprint is no exception. The Pro Level Carbon Layup produces a frame that is genuinely stiff under hard effort — you can feel it immediately when you put down a standing sprint. The tube profiles are clearly shaped for aerodynamic function, not just appearance, and the overall fit and finish is where you'd expect it at $6,300.

The Track Geometry is the most important thing to understand before buying. The 76-degree seat tube angle and 375mm chainstays are not subtle — this is a forward, powerful position that rewards riders who know how to sprint on a track. It's not designed for comfort over long distances. On the banking, the geometry gives you exactly the feedback and responsiveness you need to accelerate hard out of a corner or drive through a flying lap.

The main thing buyers need to know upfront: the sprint handlebar is not included. It's sold separately and it's a meaningful additional cost you need to plan for before purchasing the frameset. Also worth noting — this is strictly a sprint configuration. If you're looking for a pursuit setup, the Electron Pro RIO Pursuit is a separate frameset at $7,200, and the two are genuinely different bikes.

Best suited to dedicated velodrome sprinters — national team riders, elite club racers, and serious competitors who train and race at the track regularly.
