3T - RA Cycles

3T

Before 3T built bikes, they built the bars that won races. Founded in Turin in 1961, the brand spent decades as the handlebar manufacturer of choice in the Italian pro peloton — behind the world's first aero handlebar, Francesco Moser's Hour Record setup, and the Forma SL drop bar, a design so influential it became the most widely copied in cycling. In 2016, 3T turned that same engineering obsession toward complete bikes.

The 3T collection at RA Cycles is bikes: the Strada Italia for aero road racing, and the RaceMax, RaceMax 2, RaceMax Boost, and Extrema for gravel. Every “Italia” model is made entirely in-house at 3T’s Bergamo facility by their own team of carbon fiber specialists. Prices run from $7,679 to $16,599.

About 3T

3T was founded in Turin in 1961 by Mario Dedioniggi as Tecnologia del Tubo Torinese — quickly shortened to 3ttt. The brand built its name supplying handlebars to Italian pros: the Superleggera became the world’s lightest bar at 250g; the 1983 Aerodinamica was the first aero racing handlebar; and Francesco Moser used a 3ttt design to set the Hour Record in 1984. The Forma SL, introduced in 1989, created an anatomic grip shape so widely adopted it became the most copied drop bar design in cycling. The brand rebranded to 3T in 2000, launched the Exploro gravel bike in 2016, and opened a Bergamo production facility in 2018 for Italia-designated frames. Learn more at 3T’s official website.

RA Cycles stocks the full 3T bike lineup. The Strada Italia is 3T’s aero road machine — a wide, integrated carbon frame that accommodates tires up to 32mm while delivering outright speed, available in complete builds from $10,599 to $16,599. On the gravel side, the RaceMax and RaceMax 2 apply aero engineering to mixed-terrain riding, while the RaceMax Boost is spec’d for 1x drivetrains. The Extrema is 3T’s most capable off-road offering. Every “Italia” model is made entirely in-house at 3T’s Bergamo facility by their own carbon fiber team.
