OPEN was founded by Andy Kessler and Gerard Vroomen — two veterans whose careers helped define modern road and gravel cycling. Andy ran BMC Switzerland for seven years before joining Cervélo as international sales director. Gerard had co-founded Cervélo, building it into a brand that won the Tour de France, World Championships, Ironman Hawaii, and the Olympic road race before the company reached 30,000 bikes per year. Both left to build something different. The mandate was straightforward: work hard to stay small. Design bikes they want to ride, produce them, sell them to like-minded people — no sponsorships, no marketing, no distractions. OPEN CYCLE AG is based in Switzerland. Learn more at opencycle.com.

At RA Cycles, the OPEN lineup includes the U.P.PER. 2.0 and U.P. 2.0 as complete custom builds — available with Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, or Campagnolo Super Record WRL — plus the CONCE.PT carbon chassis and bare framesets for those who want to spec their own build. The WI.DE. frameset handles extreme tire clearance and adventure-scale distances. The MIN.D. road frameset and original U.P. round out the range for riders looking for the earlier-generation gravel geometry.

Browse gravel bikes across all brands, explore road and gravel framesets, or see the full Cervélo lineup — Gerard Vroomen co-founded Cervélo before starting OPEN, and the two brands share a philosophy of rigorous, no-compromise engineering. The OPEN U.P.PER. gravel bikes sub-collection focuses on the current U.P.PER. model range.
