Last RA Cycles Shop Ride of 2025!

Winter is here and the holidays are just around the corner. Come join us for the last RA Cycles shop ride of 2025! We are opting for a little shorter route for this last ride of the year, and encouraging everyone to hang out afterwards at our cafe, Ramona's. There will be coffee, beer, wine, and some light food available!

We will start out from the shop and head into Moraga via the Lamorinda Bike Path. At the Moraga Commons Park we will turn right and head towards Rheem, but take a unique detour up Donald Drive, which is closed to cars. At the top of Donald Drive is Mulholland Ridge with a 360 degree view of the Oakland Hills, and all of the East Bay from the Livermore Valley, to Mt. Diablo, to the Carquinez Straight. Fingers crossed no fog!

After a very brief regroup and group picture on top of Mulholland, we will head down into Orinda and take another small detour up to and around Lake Cascade at Orinda Country Club. A quick jaunt through the hills and up half of Happy Valley Road to Bear Creek Road, and the familiar Pig Farm climb leads us back to civilization. A casual and conversational pace back to the shop via Grayson to Pleasant hill Road to a left on Boyd and a right on Patterson, which turns into Buena Vista and past Walnut Creek Bart / Oakland Blvd.

Please plan your clothing and hydration accordingly. It will be cold, and probably foggy! There won't be any dedicated water or food stops since the route is shorter than normal at 37 miles. Save it for after the ride at Ramonas! We will meet at the shop at 8:30am for restrooms and tire pumping, with a 9am sharp roll out time!

Please message me if you have any questions. See you on the road!

R&A Cycles Shop Road Ride

The weather looks clear and the air should be crisp for a Redwood Loop! Come join us for another fall classic loop through the East Bay!

**DEMO BIKE ALERT!!**

Please message me if you have any questions. See you on the road!

- We have a small fleet of BMC Teammachine R 01 bikes available to demo! One of each following size:
- 51cm
- 54cm
- 56cm
- 58cm

Please email andy@racycles.com. com to reserve a bike for the ride! No day of demo bikes are available due to the limited time to setup and adjust the bikes before the ride. The demo bikes are here in store until early December if you do not get the chance to reserve one for this ride.

We will meet at the shop at 8:30am. Restrooms will be open and last minute tire pumping and small purchases, etc. will be available.

We will roll at 9am sharp, and head east on Mount Diablo Blvd, turning right on Broadway and heading to Rudgear / Danville Blvd. A casual roll down Danville Boulevard to Danville, and onto San Ramon Valley Blvd to the Dublin Grade/Dublin Blvd will bring us to the first climb of the day. We will regroup at the Dublin Hills Regional Open Space Staging area at the top of the Dublin Blvd climb. This is our first bathroom and water stop. Then we will head under the freeway and down Dublin Canyon Road to Castro Valley Blvd. Right turn onto Crow Canyon Road, and then a left onto Cull Canyon Road which leads to a quick left onto Heyer Road, and then right turn onto Redwood Road. As the group heads out Redwood Road riders are encouraged to go at whatever pace you like. There will be a regroup at the top of the climb on the left side of the road at Marciel Staging Area. There are no bathrooms or water at this regroup. Then the group will continue along Redwood Road and turn right on Pinehurst Road for another short but fun climb up past the East Ridge entrance to Redwood Regional Park, and the twisty descent to a right turn onto Canyon Road to Moraga. Canyon Road turns into Moraga Road, and then a right turn onto St. Marys Road immediately followed by a left into the Moraga Commons parking lot for the second and final bathroom and water stop. The group then heads back to Moraga Way for a roll into Orinda and right turn onto Glorietta Blvd. *Note - we do not go all the way into downtown Orinda.* Glorietta is the one and only stop light between Moraga and downtown Orinda. Follow Glorietta to a short but twisty downhill that turns into Acalanes Road, and then a right onto Mount Diablo Blvd and into Lafayette. We will follow the "bicycle bypass" which helps avoid going right though downtown Lafayette. The bypass starts with a right turn onto Mountain View just as we hit the edge of the downtown district / Trader Joes. Then back to the shop via the bike path to Olympic to Blvd Way.

Please tell your friends and share the ride with your riding groups!

NOV 1

November 1st, 2025 RA Cycles Shop Road Ride

Come join us for another fall classic route!

We will meet at the shop at 8:30am for restrooms, last minute essentials / tire pumping. We will roll at 9am.

We will roll from the shop towards Martinez, and head across the Benicia Bridge. Then the group will roll along some surface streets and path along the water to Vallejo. When we hit Magazine Street, please be cautious and slow down as we will cross I-80 and there is a lot of traffic at that 4-way intersection.

Once we cross Magazine Street we will head to the Carquinez Bridge to Crockett. We will stop at the gas station in downtown Crocket for a quick water/bathroom break. Then we will head back to Martinez via Carquinez Scenic Drive.

The final stretch will be Alhambra Valley Road to Bear Creek Road to Happy Valley Road and into Lafayette. Left onto Deer Hill Road and over the short hill to Stanley Blvd and Camino Diablo back to the shop.

Please make sure to plan your nutrition, hydration, and repair kit to be self sufficient. We do our best to keep track of everyone, but varying fitness levels and timing for the entire group can be tough!

Please share this ride with your friends!

Chance of rain will be an "arrive and decide" if we alter the route as a group. Steady rain or soaking wet roads will cancel the ride.

If you have questions please email me - andy@racycles.com.
