Time Xpresso 6 Pedals Info
Time's Xpresso 6 Pedals bring great performance at a reasonable price – an industry-leading, lightweight, wide pedal platform with excellent power transfer, retention properties, and adjustability. The 2015 models offer even faster pedal clip-ins than previous models.
The Xpresso 6's composite body and hollow steel axle combine to form a package that's just 204 grams per pair.
The secure iClic pedal system offers excellent engagement, and it guides your cleat into place for quick starts. According to Time, the Xpresso line of road pedals have the best surface area (700mm2) to weight ratio of any pedal out there. That big pedal surface mitigates against potentially ride-ending hot spots.
The angular float can be adjusted between plus and minus five degrees, and the pedals offer 2.5 millimeters of lateral float. Additionally, the pedals can be moved in and out to dial in Q-factor and make sure your knee tracks over your foot properly. All of these features add up to what Time, appropriately enough, terms “BioPerformance.” They have a 15-degree release angle.
The iClic system relies on a carbon blade rather than a typical steel spring – another way the Xpresso 6 Pedals keep the weight down and the engagement excellent. The stack height from sole to pedal axle is just 13.5 millimeters with the Xpresso 6. The stainless steel plate on the pedal body is replaceable, should you damage it.
Although the Xpresso 6 pedals might be on the lower end of the Time road pedal lineup, they are competitive with some other manufacturer's top offerings. You're stepping into some of the best pedals on the planet, with a great, stable, wide pedal platform; light weight that doesn't compromise performance or durability; and adjustments that ensure you'll have a comfy ride.
The Time Xpresso 6 Pedals come with cleats and hardware, and they're backed with a two-year warranty. They're compatible with any standard three-bolt cycling shoe.
