Shimano D-Fly Internal Wireless Management System - EW-WU111 Info

The Shimano D-Fly Wireless Management System, known in Shimano-speak at EW-WU111, gives your Di2 shifting system the ability to talk.

The EW-WU111 is an in-line accessory that broadcasts information about what’s going on with Di2, like what gear you’re in and how much battery life is left.  And depending on the computer, it means you can use the hidden buttons that lie inside the top of your Di2 brake/shift levers, if those are the levers you have on hour bike It uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) and ANT protocols to send out the messages. Many ANT- and BTLE-enabled bike computers already have firmware that can read the messages, and more will have it soon. Check with the manufacturer of yours to see if they’ve either included this ability in its current firmware or are planning to do so soon. Properly-app’ed smartphones and tablets should also be able to read the signals sent out.

This accessory is installed in-line, meaning, you’d plug a wire into one end of the EW-WU111 and then another wire into the other end. It usually necessitates getting an extra, usually short, length of Di2 Electric wire, either before the box or after. The box always needs to be mounted on the outside of the bike. Because if its small size, many are mounting it between the handlebars and where Di2 wires enter the frame.

Not all Shimano Di2 systems are compatible. It works with Dura-Ace 9070 and more recent and Ultegra 6870 and more recent.

The Shimano D-Fly Wireless Management System EW-WU111 adds function to your amazing Di2 shifting.
