Rotor NoQ Aero Outer Chainrings Info

When your primary concerns are aerodynamics and better shifting, and you like the consistency of round rings, then Rotor’s NoQ Aero Outer Chainring is for you.

NoQ is a reference to Rotor’s Q-Rings, which are oval. These are round, hence the NoQ designation.

Rotor makes these rings as compliments to their cranks. The material, 7075-T6 aluminum alloy, is finished identically to the cranks, so the appearance is near seamless. But they’re excellent rings on their own and are designed to perform well no matter which 110 or 130mm bolt circle diameter five-arm spider crank you put them on.

110mm is the compact diameter. 130mm is the “standard.”  110 can fit a minimum of a 34-tooth ring. 130 can fit a minimum of 38-tooth ring. The nice thing about solid rings is that you can run a huge ring on a compact crank without issue. This ring is designed to work with both 10- and 11-speed cranksets.

The 7075 plate is CNC-machined for greater precision with the teeth, so the profiles work in harmony with the implanted steel shift pins. The interior is relieved to minimize any weight gain, but only relieved in non-essential places: these rings are stiffer than cut-out rings, which should make power transfer better as well as shifting more reliable.

Rotor, which manufactures these in their home country of Spain, makes a wide range of ring sizes, as big as the most massive masher riding a team trial could need on their tt rig, and as small as the lightest climber could want on their climbing bike with compact gears.

Rotor weighs their rings in sets. A NoQ Aero 110 ratio of 52/36 weighs 171g. A NoQ Aero 130 ratio of 53/39 weighs 177g.

The Rotor NoQ Aero Outer Chain Ring is used by pro riders to get more power out of their stroke and slice through the wind better. It will do the same for you.
