Oakley Flak Jacket 2.0 XL Glasses Info
When you are a road cyclist, your list of visual needs sometimes goes against the grain of what is typically expected from a pair of glasses. Glare is never a friend, but total polarization can wash out too much road definition that is essential to choosing the best line at high speed. The Oakley Flak 2.0 XL Prizm Road Glasses have been developed specifically with the road cyclist’s needs in mind.

At some point, the sheer choice of Oakley lenses can start to become overwhelming. But as a cyclist, the Prizm Road lens proves to be one of the most important to consider since Prizm Road lenses enhance vision in both bright light and shadows, helping riders spot changes in the texture of road surfaces. And since these are the Flak 2.0 XL, they will offer an even greater field of vision compared to the older Flak Jacket XLJ, while still protecting the eyes with their optimized High Definition Optics. The lenses are made using Oakley’s trademarked and patented lens material Plutonite, which is an optically pure material that maximizes the clarity while filtering out 100% of all UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light. Oakley’s lenses are developed to meet and exceed the American National Standards Institute for optical clarity, visual fidelity, and impact resistance. When descending a shadowy road, you are going to want to see the definition in the tarmac so that you know to avoid crash-causing unevenness. With these lenses you can.
You’ll get the wrap-around 8.75 base lens that extends the curvature of the lens to protect against wind, sun, and those occasional sudden impacts. But you won’t have to worry about distortions since Oakley has developed their patented XYZ Optics which prevent any distortion by achieving precise orientation between lens curvature and the human eye, no matter from what angle you are looking. The iridium lens coating has been designed to balance the light transmission in order to reduce glare. As for the frames, made from the stress-resistant O-Matter that has come to define Oakley’s flexibility because they are lightweight and yet extremely durable. The Three-Point Fit makes the glasses sit only on the bridge of your nose and the sides of your head. The Unobtainium on the ear socks secures the fit since it is a special material that gets tackier even when you are dripping with perspiration; these glasses won’t slide off. Unobtainium is also used on the nosepiece for that same reason.
Oakley Flak 2.0 XL Prizm Road Glasses come with a hard case, a microfiber bag that doubles as a lens cleaning cloth, and an extra nose piece. Tackle those Alpine cols with confidence.
