ENVE SES Aero Road Bar Info
ENVE has improved their SES Road Aero Handlebar to make it comfier, more aero, and easier to integrate electronic shifting.
They started with 100% uni-directional carbon-fiber and shaped it in multiple ways. First, they created a wing across the tops so that your frontal area is reduced. It’s also a pretty relaxing place for your hand to rest. The rounded ergo drops have a short reach, 77mm, and shallow drop, 127mm, and it’s pretty easy to orient the brake levers so they form a flat shelf from the tops forward. The bars are flared outward in the drops by a total of 25mm, making it easier on your wrists when riding in the drops. BTW, the bars are measured center-to-center from the middle of the drops. You’ll find the ends are where they flare out.
The tops are strong enough for you to clamp ENVE SES extensions onto them if you so choose. There are intake and exit holes in the tops so you can route your brake cables, shift cables, electronic shift wires through the tops.
At the ends, you have ENVE’s super domed end caps, which make it easy to tape your bars and never lose a cap. There are also cut-lines screened onto the ends if you have a bar-end Shimano Di2 junction box and want to mount it.
The ENVE SES Road Aero Handlebars have a clamp diameter of 31.8mm. Weight for the 40cm width is 249g.
