Continental’s Der Baron 2.4 Projekt Tubeless is the one tire you need for enduro riding and racing. It functions great in all conditions.
The casing is as good a place as any to start. The Aramid beads are light and foldable and have exterior shaped perfectly to lock into UST rims. They’re bounded by a light 60TPI cloth that is wrapped four times under the tread and three times on the sidewalls. The sidewalls then gat an Apex layer to stiffen the sides. The casing is then covered with a ProTection layer. The sidewalls are finished on the outside with a RaceFlag checkerboard design for both protection and appearance.
The tread is molded out of Conti’s Black Chili compound, which is grippy, low in rolling resistance, and long-wearing. Short, widely-spaced knobs run down the middle for both digging in and mud-clearing, while reinforced side knobs allow for good purchase no matter the ground conditions, no matter how much you lean.
The 29er size of the Continental Der Baron Projekt Tubeless Tire is 29 x 2.4”; it weighs 1000g. The 27.5” comes in both 27.5 x 2.4” and 2.6”; it comes in at 950g and 1000g.
