The Asics Noosa FF Shoes are designed for triathletes. As such, essential features are cushioning and barefoot comfort. But there is so much more.
First, the ability to go sockless. You might not do this every run, but when you’re saving seconds in a short tri’, being able to shove your foot inside the shoe and go without worrying about blisters is comfort both for your dogs and your mind. The interior is seamless and very well ventilated. There are also heel and tongue tabs that make it easier to pull on your shoes.
Up top, the lacing system utilizes discrete eyelets. A small change, but a big benefit. These allow for better distribution of pressure and more precise fit. The result is a big comfort benefit.
The bottom of the shoe shows a judicious use of Asics’ AHAR rubber. This stuff is gripping and super-durable, but it also can transmit more shock through the sole and add weight. By using it carefully, and breaking up the segments, the shoe is lightened and provides a softer cushion, with minimal cost in durability.
That softer cushion is thanks to Flytefoam midsole, thanks to its higher density composition, it compresses and springs back like few materials on the market. Further help is the 10mm drop going from 24mm to 14mm, a generous cushion that puts your feet in a performing position.
