3T RaceMax Italia Project X Ready to Paint Frameset Info
When it comes to cycling craftsmanship, Italy is the first place on a lot of rider’s minds. The 3T RaceMax Italia is built in Italy, giving riders a synergistic performance on gravel, asphalt, and more. This gravel bike is centered around speed and performance but does not shy away from an adventure. With the ability to house tires up to 61mm wide, there are not many places the RaceMax Italia cannot go. The ability to equip 650b mountain bike wheels on your RaceMax means that you have some of the most capable performance on a fast drop bar machine. The 3T RaceMax Italia is just as fast as it is versatile.
Despite running such large tires, the RaceMax Italia remains fast and aero. 3T actually started with the tires and designed the frame around them. Larger tires mean that turbulent airflow is much more prominent coming off of them. They started with a smaller gap between the front tire and downtube, leading to a better transition of airflow, reducing turbulence. The upper part of the downtube is just 50mm wide, helping to pick up airflow off the tire. The downtube gets wider as it gets lower, helping to maintain comfort and shield the water bottle from the wind. A narrow headtube keeps an aero profile but includes a special MiniMax headset that allows a bigger steerer to be used for the strength and control you need on gravel. The 3T RaceMax Italia proves that speed and versatility do not have to be separated.
Now that the carbon process has been brought back to Italy, 3T has taken extra steps in their innovation. Their proprietary filament winding system and resin transfer molding allows them to be extremely precise with the dimensions of the frame. This leads to customization for a specific groupset type. Riders can expect a lightweight gravel frame that is just as strong as it is fast. The Project X RTP version remains unpainted and unfinished, allowing you to get a good look at the winded filament or send it out to be painted the way you want. 3T has truly embraced the history of Italian craftsmanship in cycling.
To create a more efficient system, 3T came up with the MORE Integrale system. It uses the same exact headtube shape regardless of internal or external cable routing. Height adjustments can be made to the system without the need for disconnecting brake hoses. Stem lengths can also be swapped or completely removed with no need for disconnecting or bleeding hoses. The stem is compatible with 1x or 2x SRAM and Shimano electronic groupsets as well as 1x mechanical groupsets. Any 3T Integrale Bars can be chosen depending on personal needs. This version has Aeroghiaia LTD bars. 3T does not just give you a frame to build with random spec, they create a full integrated system.
