The 3T Extrema Italia is your key to the fastest adventures. 3T is famous for creating drop bar bikes that can take on difficult terrain, but the Extrema Italia takes it to the next level. This bike can house tires up to 57mm wide on 29 inch wheels. That is the type of tire you would typically find on a mountain bike, so you know the Extrema is ready for the toughest terrain. A round seat tube also means that you can equip a dropper post. The frame is even compatible with electronic droppers. Despite incorporating such hefty components, riders can still count on excellent speed, responsiveness, and aerodynamics. The 3T Extrema Italia is the kind of bike you can count on for anything from an off-road adventure to a high-level gravel race.
All Extrema Italia frames are made in Italy. They key to maintaining low weight and high speeds on such a rugged frame center around the carbon layup process. At their Italian carbon factory, 3T developed a process of filament winding instead of a traditional carbon layup which leads to stronger tubes. They also use their RTM process which stands for Resin Transfer Molding. Through this process, they inject the resin into the mold after the carbon has already dried. A vacuum removes the excess air, leading to a more efficient process and less use of unnecessary materials. With a full Italian build, riders receive amazing responsiveness and strength in a frame that can do it all.
When tires as wide as 57mm come into the equation, extra work has to be done for any hope of making the bike aero. Luckily, 3T has this process down to a science, starting their build with the wheels and designing the aero tube shapes around them. The Extrema Italia has a 60mm wide downtube which gets even wider near the bottom bracket and cleans up the chaotic turbulence coming off a large front wheel. An aero cutout also helps to redirect turbulence past the frame and around the rear wheel, leading to a bike that is far more aero than it looks. The top tube has an elongated profile and is very truncated in the back. This allows for a narrower front end, giving riders more efficiency in their riding position. Simply put, the geometry of the 3T Extrema Italia is designed to be fast on any surface.
On top of all around speed, the Extrema Italia is primed for adventure. It can be absolutely loaded with storage thanks to conveniently placed mounts that do not disrupt riding efficiency. There are three mounts on the fork legs in addition to room for straps on the top tube and seatpost. All the nutrition, tools, and accessories you need can be taken along on your trip with ease. The frame also accommodates MOST Integrale Technology which helps riders get the perfect setup without adding much bulk. Internal and external routing use the same headtube and adjustments can be made to the stem and setup without disconnecting brake hoses. Compatible with Shimano and SRAM electronic 1x and 2x groupsets, everyone has their ideal adventure setup. The 3T Extrema Italia Frame is a new way to ride the toughest terrain.
