Wolf Tooth CTRL Performance Trail Clipless Pedal Info
The Wolf Tooth CTRL Performance Trail Clipless Pedal is the all-mountain pedal in the range, and the platform is the point: 965mm² of it, which Wolf Tooth compares against 883mm² on a Shimano XTR 9220 and 645mm² on a Hope Trail. That extra area gives the sole of the shoe somewhere to sit once you are through a rough section and leaning on the pedal rather than spinning it.
It manages that without the bulk that usually follows. At 16mm the body is well under the 18.2mm of both the XTR 9220 and the Hope TC, and 341g undercuts those two by roughly 100g each. The thin profile buys cornering clearance, and the open centre between the binding cages sheds mud instead of packing it. Engagement is SPD compatible with 5 degrees of float, 12 degrees of release and a fixed 55mm Q factor, running the proven axle and bearing design from Wolf Tooth's Waveform aluminium pedals.
Like the rest of the line it is covered by Wolf Tooth Right to Repair, with replacement parts and service guides published rather than withheld. Keep a drop of oil on the rear binding every 50 hours and the clip-in stays consistent. Designed and tested at Wolf Tooth in Minnesota, in black, gold, orange, red and raw silver.
