Scott Spark DC 10 Bike

The Scott Spark DC 10 Bike is Scott's downcountry race machine, built to bridge the gap between a cross-country bike's efficiency and a trail bike's confidence on technical descents. With 140mm of front travel and 138mm out back, the Spark DC gives up nothing in climbing speed while still having enough travel and a slack enough head angle to be pushed hard on the way down. This is the top-spec build in the Spark DC line, running a full SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission and RockShox's electronically controlled Flight Attendant suspension front and rear.

Flight Attendant is the standout feature here. Both the RockShox Pike Ultimate fork and SIDLuxe XL Ultimate shock run RockShox's electronic suspension control system, which reads terrain and pedaling input in real time and automatically switches between the three suspension positions — Lockout, Pedal, and Descend — without the rider touching a lever. For a downcountry bike meant to be raced uphill and ridden hard downhill, that automatic switching matters: full efficiency is there when you're climbing or on smooth sections, and full travel opens up the instant the trail gets rough, all without breaking pedaling rhythm to flip a switch.

The frame is Scott's Spark DC HMF Carbon Gen5, built around an adjustable head angle and a fork lock feature integrated into the Syncros-Acros headset, letting riders fine-tune handling by half a degree to suit terrain or preference. Cable routing runs through Syncros' Octopus Gen2 integration system for a clean cockpit, and the frame uses a UDH derailleur interface to pair with the SRAM Transmission drivetrain. Geometry keeps a consistent 440mm chainstay across all four sizes with a 65-degree head angle and 76.2-degree seat tube angle, numbers that lean toward stability and descending confidence rather than a traditional twitchy XC race geometry.

Drivetrain duty goes to a SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission, a hangerless, direct-mount system shifted wirelessly through an AXS Rocker Pod Controller, with a 10-52 cassette and 32-tooth chainring giving a wide range for both climbing and flat-out pedaling. The crankset integrates a SRAM spindle-based power meter, useful for riders tracking output on race days or structured training rides. Syncros Silverton CF2 carbon wheels are wrapped in a Maxxis Forekaster front tire and Recon rear, a fast-rolling but still capable tread pairing suited to mixed terrain rather than pure hardpack racing. SRAM Motive Silver brakes with 180mm HS2 rotors handle stopping power, and a Syncros dropper post with +RAD 2.0 drop adjustment lets riders dial in exactly how much travel they want rather than being locked into a fixed drop length.

Scott and Syncros built in a handful of details aimed at self-sufficiency on long rides: a Syncros Save the Day tool kit integrated into the frame, a Syncros Tool & Tubeless Handlebar kit for trailside repairs, a spare SRAM AXS Powerpack battery so a dead battery doesn't end a ride, and Milkit tubeless sealant already in the system. Between the electronic suspension, wireless drivetrain, and integrated tools, this is a bike built for riders who want race-day efficiency without sacrificing the ability to handle a rough descent or a long day away from a shop. It's suited to downcountry and marathon racing, as well as riders who want one bike capable of covering fast singletrack and technical trail in equal measure.
