The Q36.5 Dottore Pro Signature Bib Shorts - Womens are the Italian brand's high-performance woven bibs, cut specifically for women. They are built for long road rides, where the shorts have to support your legs, hold their shape and stay comfortable on the saddle for hours.
Woven fabric with graduated compression
Q36.5 builds the Dottore Pro from four proprietary woven fabrics. The leg panels use a high-density weave with graduated compression, which the brand says supports muscle fiber alignment over long distances. Retailer specifications list the composition of the standard Dottore Pro as 60 percent polyamide, 30 percent elastane, 9 percent polyester and 1 percent silver. The silver thread is woven in, and Q36.5 claims it reduces muscle fatigue. That is the brand's own claim, and we have not tested it.
The leg hems are raw-cut, with no elastic or silicone grippers. Q36.5 says this lets the hem support without squeezing. The straps are soft and elastic, and the brand says they follow the contours of your torso without creating pressure points. A rear panel adds lumbar support.
The Q LAB Air chamois
The pad is Q36.5's Q LAB Air chamois, a sculpted, ergonomic design made with super-high-density open-cell foam to cushion you from road vibration. Its stitching lets two separate layers move independently, which is meant to reduce friction and move moisture away from the skin. The shorts are cut specifically for women, and Q36.5 says that shaping reduces pressure on the abdominal and genital area. Listed weight is about 150 grams in a size medium.
Fit and sizing
The fit is close, with compression that eases through the leg. The RA Cycles size chart runs from XXXS to L, with chest, waist and hip measurements for each size, and the shorts are available in Tarmac. Because the cut is snug by design, measure yourself before choosing a size.
