The Q36.5 Dottore Light Rain Jacket is a packable cycling rain jacket that Q36.5 calls its lightest rain jacket ever. It weighs 115 g in size M, and Q36.5 builds it for short showers and for moments when you need emergency protection from wind and rain without carrying a full shell.
The jacket uses a 55 gsm ripstop nylon with a 10,000mm waterproof membrane, in a three-layer construction that is both waterproof and windproof. The fabric is 94% polyamide, 4% polyester and 2% elastane. Seams are fully taped, which keeps water out at the stitching, where cheaper shells tend to leak first. Q36.5 says the ultralight materials and taping also keep the jacket compact and softer than other taped jackets, so it packs down small enough for a jersey pocket. The brand lists no pack dimensions, so check the fit against your own pockets or saddle bag.
Four reflective inserts add visibility in low light. For extra visibility, the jacket also comes in a Poppy Orange colorway alongside Black. Q36.5 makes the jacket in small-scale Italian manufacturing, and sizes run from XXS to XXL. Within Q36.5's range, this is the minimal rain layer: a Q36.5 jacket you carry on every ride and rarely think about until the weather turns. For colder wet-weather riding, look at the brand's insulated Dottore jackets instead.
