Giordana Women's Beyond Gravel Cargo Thermal Bib Tight Info

The Giordana Women's Beyond Gravel Cargo Thermal Bib Tight is a cool-weather bib tight for gravel and road riders. It is cut from 250g Blizzard thermal fabric, which Giordana describes as highly compressive and moisture-wicking, and it builds on the brand's Beyond Gravel Cargo bibs.

Abrasion panels and room for your things

Giordana put durable Cordura fabric on the hip panels, the areas it says take the most impact and debris on gravel. The updated saddle panel is Cordura as well, which the brand designed to cut friction. Storage comes from a cargo pocket on each thigh plus two rear mesh pockets, so food, a spare layer or a phone can ride on the tights instead of in a jersey.

Chamois, fit and sun protection

The insert is the OmniForm Cirro S-W chamois with Aloe Vera infusion, which Giordana calls its top-of-the-line pad for longer rides. The straight-cut finish is meant to give a barely-there feeling, and the 85% nylon, 15% elastane fabric carries a 50+ UPF rating. These are made in Italy.

Colors are black, sable brown, gravel grey, bronze yellow and cedar green, in sizes XS through 3XL. Wash at 40°C or less on a reduced cycle, with no bleach or iron, and hang or lay flat to dry.

The RA Perspective

These are the tights we would point a gravel rider toward once mornings turn cold. The Cordura on the hips and saddle area is a sensible choice for riders who go down on loose surfaces or brush through rough trail edges, and the thigh cargo pockets mean you are not stuffing everything into a jersey back.

The Cirro S-W chamois is Giordana's top pad, and the Aloe Vera infusion is aimed at longer days. A thermal bib tight with a chamois this good makes sense for riders who put in three or four hours at a stretch rather than quick laps around the block.

There are a few things to keep in mind. Giordana does not publish a temperature range for the Blizzard fabric, so we would treat these as a cool-weather piece and plan to add layers on top and a base layer underneath once it gets properly cold. The fabric is described as highly compressive, so sizing matters, and the seven sizes from XS to 3XL give you room to get it right. Thigh pockets are handy, but anything bulky you load into them is a thing you will notice while pedaling.

If your gravel season stretches into late fall and early spring, these are a strong all-day option. For road riders who want pockets and extra abrasion resistance on cold days, they work there too.
