The Giordana Ceramic Long Sleeve Base Layer is a cycling base layer built from Resistex Bioceramic, a nylon, spandex and polyester microfiber bonded to mineral bio-ceramic crystals. Giordana describes it as a true all-season base layer, meant to be worn in summer heat and winter cold.
What the ceramic is meant to do
According to Giordana, the Bioceramic emits Far Infrared Rays, an invisible part of the light spectrum, and that is where the fabric's benefits come from. In summer, the brand says the fabric reflects the sun's heat and lowers the surface temperature of the cloth. In winter, Giordana says the same material insulates well enough to keep body temperature steady in cold conditions. Giordana also claims beneficial effects on circulation and well-being. Fit and sizing
The base layer is constructed from four panels that contour to the body, and the spandex in the blend makes it form-fitting. Giordana designed it to fit close so the fabric stays in contact with the skin. It is based on men's sizing, so the brand recommends women order one size down.
It comes in grey, sizes XS through 3XL, and is made in Italy.
