The Whiteland Short Sleeve Jersey has a faux breast pocket to bring some business casual fun to your ride, and a matching wide charcoal stripe across the stomach and two thinner horizontal stripes around the bicep on the right cuff. While the jersey may have a retro look, the materials and the fit are ultra-modern, with fabrics that are both high-performance and eco-conscious, and a pattern that ensures comfort and excellent aerodynamic qualities.
As is the case throughout the company's performance line of jerseys, DannyShane combines 50 to 55 percent Bamboo White Ash (BWA) with textured ripstop polyester microfibers to create a fabric that's durable, environmentally friendly, and downright pleasant to the touch.
The ripstop polyester comes from recycled materials and the BWA is a natural, sustainable fiber that offers excellent breathability, heat transfer, moisture wicking, odor resistance, and a soft feel. The combination of fabrics enhances the jersey's longevity and ensures that its vibrant colors will stick around for many years – and washes – to come.
Three oversized pockets on the back provide plenty of storage, with an angled opening along the top of the left and right pockets providing easier access when you reach back for snacks during your ride. A fourth, zippered back pocket supplies a secure spot for a small wallet, billfold or phone.
The Whiteland Short Sleeve Jersey's “mock race collar” comes up a bit higher and stays snug for maximum aerodynamic benefit, while the hidden full-length zipper allows for extra ventilation on those super hot days and long climbs, and also provides easier access to your bib straps for nature breaks.
The silicone waist gripper along the bottom prevents the jersey from riding up or bunching. Overall the fit is racy – “American Performance Cut,” in DannyShane's terminology – although because of the jersey's pattern and materials, it offers a little more room and more stretch than a full-on racer's cut.
