The CeramicSpeed Ceramic Race Coated Bottom Bracket - OSBB to 24mm (Shimano) bridges the gap between Specialized OSBB frames and Shimano 24mm cranksets — doing it with ceramic balls running on hardened-steel races treated to a 3-micron coating that measurably reduces friction and resists corrosion over time. Where a stock press-fit bottom bracket is a compromise, this is a deliberate upgrade.
The coated races are the defining feature here. That 3-micron treatment lowers the surface roughness of the bearing races, which means less rolling resistance and longer intervals between servicing. Each unit ships with CeramicSpeed's All Round grease included, so installation is straightforward from the start.
